Here's an article about how narcissists are more likely to climb the corporate ladder than normal people because of their ability to be charming and self promote. Of course, this applies to high-functioning narcissists with normal to high IQs. Russ is a messy combination of low IQ, narcissism and the inability to realistically evaluated himself. But high-IQ narcissists generally are at least somewhat accomplished at their chosen field.

Oh, you're not wrong, but think about it from Russ's point of view. The guys in the photos have regular faces, well-paying jobs, toned and athletic bodies, friends, great personalities, a sense of humor, humility, cars, physical strength, balanced diets, actual degrees from actual universities, interests and hobbies, and so on. Compared to that, you're right: he has nothing to offer. That's why he resorts to "But I'm nice!" It's literally his best, and only, shot. It's the only thing he can offer. And what makes it so hilarious to us is that even that's not true; we know how he gets when he's denied what he wants. It's an illusion, and he knows it. But it's literally all he can do.

What Russell completely discounts is any organic connections one of these women might have with their beau. He just sees a picture, but not their prior interactions as a neighbor, classmate, colleague. Even if the gentlemen were initially from an online connection, prior to meeting they likely discussed hobbies, interests. Even if it’s a continuation of a shallow one night stand, some other dimension existed past that to make the relationship grow/continue.

@Sexy Senior Citizen I agree with everything you wrote except the last line, "it's an illusion and he knows it." I don't think he knows it. I think he genuinely believes that he is a nice person because he compliments girls on their looks, so that's nice, right? He clearly doesn't understand normal, acceptable social behavior and how to approach women, so he thinks saying something nice is owed a response and when he doesn't get it, he's been wronged.

Russhole is a broken, dysfunctional homunculus: a creature that generally resembles a human, but is missing key components that make someone actually human. Being so fundamentally broken, he will never understand what factors go into a normal, healthy relationship or even a friendship. Being a malignant narcissist he only sees people for what they can do for him or give him, and he believes that all romantic relationships are based on physical attraction. Whenever he's been told that strong and lasting relationships are built on more important factors, like common interests and hobbies, similar class backgrounds, complimentary personalities, similar life goals, etc., and that relationships built primarily on physical attraction and little else tend to be unhappy and end early, he reacts in a similar fashion as when he faces any kind of criticism: he shuts down and doesn't absorb and retain what he's been told. At Russhole's core he's a very childish person with a very immature world view and understanding of reality, thus his understanding and views on romantic relationships are likewise incredibly childish.

It goes back to his view that everything is transactional. He did X, so the woman is obligated to do Y. That's why he threw such a fit when Taylor's agent wouldn't pass on his song. He did a nice thing so she HAD to do what he wanted! She didn't uphold her end, even though she didn't ask him for anything. He said a nice thing to an instagram model, so she has to reply! It's the law! I'm surprised he hasn't had more of a shitfit over Yovanna not responding to his song. Makes me wonder if he was harassing her (or whoever runs her social media) so much he got told to fuck right off. If they threatened legal action, that might make him back down.

Yeah, it seems really out of character for him to just abandon these plans. I'd say he'd learned a lesson, but this is Russ. It's possible that someone told him to fuck off forcefully enough that he actually took a hint, but even with his decreased activity on FB, it seems strange that he hasn't whined about it somewhere. Nor has he complained about being rejected by AGT, and I'm frankly surprised that Twitter hasn't kicked up a fuss other than that one incident, and that he's apparently creeping around sex work advocates and no one's seen fit to cancel him yet.
I wonder if this is another part of him losing his grip. I don't see him maturing or learning how to let things go, but I can see him just cycling onto the Next Big Thing that much faster; it's not that he's got over anything, the resentment is still there under the surface, building up. But he's just desperately moving on immediately upon things falling apart because he just can't bring himself to face it, even to wallow and complain. He's not getting sympathy anymore anyway, not since he's alienated all his friends and probably come to a breaking point with his family, so there's no real incentive for him to bitch about how he's misunderstood (though if anyone confronts him, like that guy on Twitter, he'll definitely take the opportunity to play the victim again). Even Russ's oblivious ego can't survive constant onslaughts of failure. He's looking for a win.
