General Discussion for Virtual Youtubers / Vtubers / Chuubas - it's okay to be a simp for 2D, just don't thirstpost.

@horni - (can't quote your post for some reason) It's actually funny you comment that because, as others alluded, SomethingAwful was one of the first prominent websites to fall to the super progressive/SJW filth. It was about the 2008 election I believe when it started turning. I remember the moment that made me lose faith in the site. General Bullshit actually used to be a damn good forum for discussing current events, until they lapsed moderation on it and it became FYAD-lite. Just before that happened, there was a thread discussing an 18 year old gang banger who got life in prison for killing a 4 year old when he was 15. As the gang banger put it, "She disrespected him", and he picked up the kid and slammed her head into the concrete like swinging a bat, instantly killing her. And 3 years later, when asked about it, he didn't regret his actions at all. I suggested that maybe putting that monster away for the rest of his life isn't a bad thing, and I was accused of being a bootlicker for not instantly trying to empathize with the environment that might have raised this poor child to act like that. Got real sick of that place after that.

Just catching up on the latest Council Meeting VOD. Looks like Sana gets shit on yet again. Her model broke and she was cardboard again. I haven't watched her solo stuff much, does she have these issues then or is it only during collabs?
There's been some speculation that the large collabs that require 4+ models tend to cause a lot of problems as far as processing power needed to draw all the Live2D characters. It's why a lot of times you see people using cardboard/drawn stand-ins to represent when the others talk. It's especially apparent in the people that might not have especially powerful computers right now. You can see a version of this in the NijiEN clip video I'll link below, where it's Elira's stream so she looks okay, Finana is a bit lower quality and has less frames, but Pomu is WAY noticeably lower and super choppy.
Seems to me like Dottovu is like a less popular, cooler version of Senzawa, but I hope there wasn't any bad blood according to their videos

Dottovu version
Senzawa version

Also, damn does she have some nice covers like this
Is this our angle for "Yagoo's House of Broken Girls" for Kronii? Failed voice actress with middling success in Youtube. Tried vTubing before, only for the company to fail outright and never have any real major success. Bad bouts of despression and self esteem issues due to past failures combine to make her kind of a recluse?
Yeah, in my defense the boobs did show up after my comment.
I'm very glad someone in this thread recommended her membership content probably months ago. It's really good content, especially her deep-talk streams. Its the type of content I wish my Oshi did, and Ollie doing it might make her my new Oshi.
It was today, after Among Us technical issues.
I can't stress enough how nice her mask-off streams are. Where she just outright states what bothers her and such.

I've been a member to quite a lot of Hololive vtubers, I must say Ollie easily has the best membership content. In quantity, quality and variety.
Gura's membership content is like 60% karaoke because she always does a poll where its an option knowing full and well it'll win, as a quick example.
I like Ollie a lot. I don't get to watch many of her streams however because she tends to stream when I'm asleep more often then not. Is her member content in general worth it for the "behind the scenes talks"? Because that's the kind of thing I'd make a serious effort to watch. I need to make an effort to watch more of her, and Reine as well in general.

@reinigen And I can't quote you... Anyways, Ollie's membership streams began as a pseudo-psychotherapy, because at that time she was cracking under the pressure and needed some place to blurt out all her insecurities and cry out the stress. Nowadays, they're a place where Ollie interacts with the chat as if she was talking to her IRL friends, instead of a sea of anonymous fans. She often teases future projects (both her own and holoID as a whole) and talks about her relationships with others.

@reinigen I can't reply to you for some reason.

This is absolutely correct. And its well worth the effort. She doesn't scream and doesn't put on a persona there, plus she has few members so if you can actually catch it live, you can actually interact with her through chat. Chat doesn't move too fast for that.

It's a fun meme, but I don't think Yagoo/Cover is intentionally finding people with bad luck and tragic pasts to hire. I think it's just more like, if someone lives on this stupid planet for 25-40 years and isn't a total hermit, they're bound to have had some unfortunate things happen to them at various points, and if you dig into their past enough, you'll find them. And of course that will conflict with the perfect unsullied seiso idols they're all pretending to be.

Oh, I agree it's just a meme. But it's hilarious how it just keeps happening. They can't seem to find one 'normal' person who hasn't had some massive tragedy in their lives.

Is there any reason why Calli seemingly stopped using her new intro / outro animation and reverted back to her corny old ones since almost 2 weeks ago?

It seems to me that a 'normal' person wouldn't become a vtuber in the first place. They'd find success being a regular streamer. There wouldn't be a need to become this character and personality with an avatar. Alot of the girls' roommates that we know about show just that. They tried doing their own thing and for whatever reason ended up striking out on their own. Or failing horribly in some cases.

Not that there's anything wrong with that. There's nothing shameful about trying something and failing because at least they tried. This is just my observation. But I'm really glad these girls found success through hololive.

I mean, it's just confirmation bias. And how much of bad things in live do you considered a tragedy? Kson was doing fine and join as a side job of sort. Choco is absolutely chilled with her life, beside some failed relationship long ago. Luna was not really successful in Nijisanji, but beside that she seems happy with her life. Ina worse tragedy is her spending too much time on FFXIV raids and regret it. If you really look into it, majority of them have a perfectly normal life, beside a few rough patch along the road. We have a few very fucked up case, sure, but majority of them is 'normal'.

So which members have the most symbiotic relationship with their fans/members? The ones I can vouch for:

Watame: Definitely has one with her fans, doesn't seem to differentiate Viewers/Members/Superchatters. Shares a lot with everyone, members usually get an early roadmap of stuff to come.
Polka: Has one primarily with her Members. Sharing a lot of stuff with them exclusively, including where her head is at and borderline roommate stuff.

From what's been mentioned it seems at the very least Ollie and Rushia do as well, but unlike the other two, I'm not membered to either of them.

>be yagoo
>want to have his own version of AKB48
>get cute girls to be idols
>all are broken or degenerates
>give them a platform so they can make a living while socializing and curing them little by little
>refuse to bang them because he is that nice and is already married
>doesnt have to elaborate further
>keep living the dream

Every time i have a chance i watch the first of many and i believe she is holding her power levels, there is a hidden depth on her that others don't have like when she suddenly told everyone that she tried to sing classical music but did not have the perks for it , how a aspirant opera singer ended singing pop music is a very good case of study
