Ya boi Zach of comicsgate fame published two videos about comicscow and former CIA glowie Tom King bragging about a (presumably fake) incident of getting a fan thrown out of a convention for briefly removing his mask.

On both videos, several commentors mention Dobsons comic about beating up the photographer of the Supergirl cosplayer and the subsequent reveal of the photographer being the cosplayes boyfriend and Dobson sulking in the background.

I fully admit that I bought Tom King for a long while, thought his early stuff with Batman was interesting (like the interest in Kite-man), and enjoyed (most of) Mister Miracle.

Fucking hated Heroes in Crisis, especially when he basically wrote the plot with the killer and victims to be filled in later, because of course the Didiot would have chosen Wally West.

Then, there was the absolute shitshow Batman became, and him going all woke on Twitter with him trying to throw Jai Lee under a bus.

So of course he's still (sort of) around at DC, while the fucking company's politics finally broke Scott Snyder and James Tynion and they jumped ship to Substack.

Would "love" to see ol' Dobby give his unique brand of bad take on the Substack situation.

Kind of, I remember comic Kamala being less cringe inducing but then again I haven't read the comic since just before Civil War 2. But yeah, that Avengers game was shit, especially with everyone praising her.

It's brutal, which makes the aforementioned hype she got in it even weirder. I can only speculate that it was people who had only ever heard of the character but not read anything of her or watched that cartoon about her and only knew of the "fangirl" shit. And even that's not as big a deal in the source material as people think. It's retarded because the character is known for two things, "fangirling" and being Carol Danvers Lil Buddy, and neither of those are actually huge themes in the books (her fandom shit is more or an embarrassing hobby than the autistic obsession it's portrayed as in other mediums, etc).

I'd say it was the comic that explained her callsign. In the comic, her callsign was "Hamburger," because that's what she ate before throwing up into her oxygen mask. In real life, callsigns are given by your peers, and they're known for being embarrassing. Nobody got "Maverick" as a callsign.

The Soviet space program tended to use individual callsigns for piloted vessels instead of callsigns for the vessels, so I'll bet there's some grizzled old VVS veteran out there laughing about how "Farts" had to change his callsign to "Cedar" when he became a cosmonaut.

In real life, callsigns are given by your peers, and they're known for being embarrassing. Nobody got "Maverick" as a callsign.

If they did, it was for maximum, humiliating, irony.... like calling someone Maverick who actually was constantly asking permission for simple things during training.

Even "awesome" callsigns have unproud histories.

Was watching an old TV show about this very phenomenon, and one of the pilots had the callsign "Scorch". Pretty cool, right? Until he revealed it was because he baked the brake pads off his landing gear one time due to excessive speed on landing....

After learning of the whole inflation thingy on the internet, I was never able to look at Dig Dug quite the same way again.

Later learning of Dobson just means I'll never quite be able to forget it, either.
