Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

What are the odds all these federal employees end up going to prison instead of simply getting kicked out of the job? I do believe they are court martialing some shit like 800,000 soldiers?

We can call it "the Military to Prison Pipeline."

Zero odds that will happen for literally all of them. That would simply be too absurd for people to accept. After all why would the most popularly "elected President" have so many of "his" troops give him the middle finger?

It seems to be going beyond that. Some people with insider information are saying he wants a nationwide employer vaccination mandate with no exemptions, and he is going to start to lean into companies to get them to comply.

I don't think there is an actual way to mandate the vaccine for employers nationwide without it immediately getting struck down by the courts (in a non-clown world). In any case, this was already coming from the FDA approval, which he specifically demanded companies to vaccinate or fire employees.

Again, I am kind of happy for this because I have friends who are not jabbed that would be fucked without their job otherwise. It forces decent Republican governors to ban the mandates statewide instead of sitting on the fence and watching it play out by bringing it to the forefront.

@Jeremiah the Bullfrog Pardon the lack of quoting, but I disagree. The longer Joe sticks around, the more embarrassing and ridiculous it will be for him and his party. This isn't just about the next election or the one after that. It's about the next couple of them. Like I said, they don’t have any good options and you may very well be right.

That being said, nobody has seen hide nor hair of Kamala since this debacle began (aside from that awkward press conference where she just stood uncomfortably behind him and then when she laid a wreath at the memorial commemorating the folks who shot McCain down).

I think for the moment their going to let Joe take the hits and if he continues to degrade (and their hoping after this mess starts to improve), they’ll play the Kamala card and try to buy her some political capital by playing up the whole “OMG, isn’t it great that our President has a vagina”.

If they put her in now, she comes off as having backed a senile man for President who couldn’t make it through his first year. When an American inevitably dies at the hands of the Taliban, she’s on the hook. When inflation keeps climbing, she’s on the hook. When Covid numbers keep increasing she’s on the hook.

You have to remember, she’s got cards to play in this too. If you were going to slide the knife in (the 25th Amendment is pretty much the only way he’s going to leave barring impeachment after the midterms), would you slide it in now when you have to fix all of this shit or would you wait until hopefully some of this fades from the public’s memory?

I agree, as much as I hate to see the enemy continue to close in, I think the consolidation of the enemy into a coherent face will force people to shore up their positions. Let's just hope that the resistance has enough firepower to make it through this crisis.

Anyways, I do think these actions will continue to exacerbate the institutional rot already occurring in the Federal government, especially if they end up forcing out people based on their opinions, and replacing them with yes-men and lackies.

I don't think Joe Biden is a good person in general. Seems like most of his life, or time in office at least, has been looking for ways to skim off the public trough.

Biden was made for being a senator where no one would look too hard into his actions and he could pass the blame around. Being president is showing he is too brittle for any real responsibility.

They can keep flailing around for 3 years. Biden is the embodiment of the Neo-liberal, Neo-conservatism, Uni-party. He is Wesley Mouch from Atlas Shrugged, A man who was perfectly neutral because he was so corrupt that all influences balanced out. Stasis is what Joe Biden was elected for.

Still, that's a very possible mandate they're doing, in line with France. Hopefully we react like France fight this shit if it does come to fruition.

A limp wristed mandate is gonna end up being a PR disaster as he gets dragged for not doing enough. A strongly backed mandate would require a huge amount of political capital just to survive the initial internal challenges, much less the legal challenges and dealing with the state governments that come out and drop a big old fuck you back on the admin.

Cutting Gibs would be an even bigger boondoggle, it literally can only hurt their own - Republicans who lose government support because of a democrat will blame the democrat, and Dems that lose government support because of a democrat will blame the democrats too. Nobody expects the Republicans to fight for gibs, so nobody will be surprised or angry when they don't.
