I think it's more a case of, well it's a good game with nothing they feel obligated about bitching over. I know some SJW types IRL, and some of them feel a social pressure to join online outrage to avoid being harassed in their real lives by the outrage machine. Apparently the SJW types will declare you terrible for simply not joining in on the outrage and go after your job.

That explains why they don't hate it, but it doesn't explain why so many of them love it.

Personally I don't have an issue with LGBT characters in games if they are well written. The issue more often is they aren't. It's like the issue with "strong female characters" in movies, many examples are shit, but that's not a flaw with them being female, but because they are written to pander.

Exactly. I've said it again and again: the problem is that these idiots write the gay first, then try to attach a character to it. I've written fiction, and I can tell you with 100% certainty that it's all ass-backwards. You start with a solid core for the character, with an interesting story, and then you add ancillary shit like race, orientation, gender, whatever. A good character is a good character regardless of the labels that come with it. But they insist in putting the cart before the horse, and their lazy writing shines brightly once you look past the excuses and the "look! It's a LGBTQAWFTBBQ character! Please clap!".

apologies if I'm late to the party on this one, I've not been bothered keeping up with Jim lately but holy fucking shit he lost alot of weight. I mean....good for him I guess. The loose skin is super fucking obvious even under that baggy ass shirt, maybe the patreon sheckles are gonna go towards surgery to get it removed but its so dramatic compared to how I'm used to seeing Jim it almost makes me suspect whether its been done by healthy means. This is a problem with the author. Any good author has hobbies outside of being an author and have many different labels to their lives like normal people. The problem with Alphabet People is that many often only describe themselves with that label. So they build their characters on that flimsy foundation. Like the difference between a developed NPC versus a shopkeeper. I can describe to you Ulric Stormcloak’s character but I could not for the life of me tell you the name of the weapons dealer in Solitude.

I played it, because I saw it on Jim's GOTY video & thought it looked interesting. It's alright, an isometric hack and slasher that controls well, runs decent on my ancient laptop and has a decent amount of style in its graphics. I've not really sunk much more time into it than the initial hour or so though.

Does that a game where protag going against his father the god of hell, and most of SJW/troons had problems with their fathers?

When you're as heavy as Jim, weight loss can happen incredibly quickly. I wasn't nearly as fat and I lost 70 pounds over a summer, years and years ago.

I still doubt his mental resolve to lose so much weight in a healthy way (it's Jim, after all), but it's not necessarily unhealthy from a purely biological perspective.

I’ve been a fan of supergiant since bastion, but I don’t know if they are SJWs or not.

SuperGiant was founded by former game journalists who quit their jobs to make games so I think the odds of them being SJW’s are pretty high. Also I think they owe a lot of their success to the fact that they are ex-game journos who probably had a lot of contacts in media who were happy to promote their friend’s games.

I played it, because I saw it on Jim's GOTY video & thought it looked interesting. It's alright, an isometric hack and slasher that controls well, runs decent on my ancient laptop and has a decent amount of style in its graphics. I've not really sunk much more time into it than the initial hour or so though.

IIRC Hades does have a pseudo-easy mode where you get a slight increase to your max health each time you die, but even if you play the normal mode the game is balanced so that pretty much anyone can eventually beat it by grinding out upgrades.

I assume the real reason it's popular among the Alphabet crowd, though, because it has a lot of handsome shirtless men in togas. As much as they like to bitch about gender norms they eat up that queerbaiting boyband shit. To bring it back to Jim, remember how much he simped for Donte in DMC? It also has relationship mechanics and an art style which... well, it isn't pure tumblr, but it's not offensive to tumblr-types either, with all the neutral and grey skin tones and the cell shading and all that.

he is a well known opioid abuser and he mentioned a couple of months ago that he has recently been prescribed adderall, which one could probably assume he's been abusing too seeing as he has a history of it. those probably have something to do with it; we all know jim doesn't have the willpower to lose weight on his own

Hit the nail on the head, but I'll add that it's an entire game about family drama, but one that doesn't have anyone saying mean things about one another (just physical abuse) which sjws love (as long as no one expects them to be the ones that change their behaviour). Also everyone in it is gay and the various olympic gods have non-greek look because that's somehow not stealing other's culture.

I finished the game once and then said fuck it since absolutely nothing changes besides some toggled hard mode options. At least Pyre had you change the gameplay because you lose teammates (though the fact you always succeed in the end rebellion was complete bs).

I'm guessing its because it portrays the greek gods as multi-racial and because Zagreus is technically a panssexual polyamorous faggot. You can have sex with a medusa head, an emo twink and a dominating BSDM harpy, sometimes with multiple of them at once.

It helps that its a great game with a lot of difficulty options, so the journos and the troons play it on shit easy acessibility mode and get to pretend they beat it fair and square.

I'm not sure he really is? I've never seen evidence to that effect, Toby pretty much goes out of his way to avoid the spotlight, not posting pictres of himself or even recordings of his voice. His games at most have themes of acceptance and kindness, but that doesn't really make him an SJW per se, though a lot of the Undertale/Deltarune fandom is definitely that. He's probably left leaning if I were to take a guess, but I've never heard of him being an annoying wokescold. He seems like the kind of guy who just wants to be left alone to make his games and music. His games are what they are, they're definitely very love it or hate it, and the fandom of his games is, well, a typical rabid internet fandom populated by dumb children and man/womanchildren, which probably doesn't do his reputation any favors. Though the actions of retarded fandoms can't really be pinned on him, and I honestly don't think he panders to the alphabet crowd that much. Some people think he does, but compared to some of the really SJW dev trainwrecks out there, I think the most you could say of Toby's writing is that it's just generically inclusive and rather innofensive, and has that quirky sense of metahumor that some people are going to lap up, but pisses others off. I only really payed attention to him during his beef with Digital Homicide, which to be fair was hilarious. I couldn't stand his videos on their own. I completely forgot he existed until the FNAF drama. I wish I could describe the look on my face when I first saw him wearing that stupid fucking wig.
