The Matrix Resurrections Thread - Woah

So how are Neo and Trinity both alive after the end of the third movie? OK, Neo there is some wiggle room, but Trinity is dead. Deader than dead. She's a pincushion. How is she alive?!
I can explain that, i have been literally doing a ted talk on discord after the trailer, you see there is a little piece of canon that normies did not enjoy, the Matrix online, in the first event of the game is stated that Neo body was never returned to Zion and the machines tell the player that his body was never recycled that take us to the trailer where his body is seeing leaving a power plant pod

About Trinity i could not explain it with the information i have right now but my theory is that the machines recovered her body and reconnected it to the matrix, considering there are tidbits of lore where a recycler drone had orders to not recycle her body

They're obviously keeping his involvement under wraps. He's showing up.
He is not, he probably doesn't know but Morpheus went in a full fight rodeo against the machines for Neo's body in The Matrix Online, we are talking him going full aloha snackbar bombing the Matrix to force people to redpill by making them see the Matrix true form and crash all of it like a BSOD of Windows, this triggered all the factions on the game to go again his black ass, one special character forgot his name but could pull shit off like a agent and worked like that demon made of flies of the Constantine movie (that ironically was also starred by Keanu Reaves) manage to Tupac him, killing him for good, the machines stated that were good bois and dindunuffin, the thing ended with a hunt and all factions going to war against the thing that killed Morpheus, the players won but the thing was still at large

So nope he is dead, and come on Fishburne is like 60 already, i dont remember perfectly what come next because i moved on from the franchise and stopped paying attention to it

@Cubanodun This movie isn't following the MMO lore, Morpheus is literally in the trailer played by a different guy because they didn't even tell the original actor there was another movie being made. The guy that plays agent smith actually heard about his character being in the script for the new one and tried reprising his role because he really liked the character only for him to basically be ignored. This was pointed out earlier in this thread. The guy that other people turn into him is agent smith and morpheus is, well, morpheus but not same actor.
Literally every other character is reprising their role save for those 2 which is very odd honestly. maybe there's some weird political reasonings? Could also be like Kingdom hearts where the Og ansem/xehanort VA Just was not contacted for the sequels with no real reason aside from weird dumb company bullshit.

Weird because Lawrence is still active and worked with Keanu on John wick, dont know if Hugo Weaving did something against the woke brigade, i just used what i had on hand with official media to explain what is mostly happening for example Smith being on matrix 4 doesn't surprise me because he is mentioned to be still on the system on Matrix Online, Morpheus not appearing at it is because he died on the game, Neo and trinity not being dead is also stated on the game

surely they arent going to follow canon set out in a 16 year old mmo that seven shades of fuck all people played let alone remember.

films going to be one of 2 things

1) a force awakens style retread of the original so the unwahsed masses can get their member on

or

2) its going to be packed ot the gills with troonery

i never saw any except the first though so what would i know :)

Also, regarding the title: "the Matrix: Resurrection", they might as well have called it "the Matrix: Generic Subtitle" :story:
If they'd called it "The Matrix: Rebooted" I would have given it cred for at least being meta.

This is a stealth prequel. We're seeing an earlier iteration of the Matrix in which the integral anomaly is slightly older when it manifests.
That's a cool idea which is why I'm not expecting it to be that.
What's the absolute shittiest plot possible?

It's a post-Reloaded world and Neo it having difficultly adjusting to all of the 'transitioning' going on now that people can be fluid and reprogram themselves. Donald Blumph is manufacturing blue pills to keep everyone in the same form. Neo overcomes his transphobia in extended dialog scenes with his shrink and the climax is destroying the blue pill factory.

Yeah, as said above I feel this movie is going into focus on transition. By watching few scenes we may establish that Neo is aware that things happened and is somewhat detached from reality that surrounds him that despite the fact he knows Morpheus and Trinity they don't recognize him.

From what I recall from... what was it... Reloaded? Reactivation? Architect promises to steadily deactivate Matrix once more and more people will be ready to leave the simulation. Based on trailer my guess is Architect lied and created new simulation but somehow Neo as an inevitable error gets into Matrix once more. The only thing that can save this movie is a plot twist at the end when he once more meets Architect in person on why he build the same world once again plotting same events.

Frankly, I won't pay for a ticket to watch same movie twice unless the writing at the end establishes why it is this way.

For those quoting what went down in the game, here is the unceremonious and tarded death of Morpheus. I remember playing Enter The Matrix but barely remember any of the cutscenes, and never got 'round to playing The Matrix Online.

For a character so damn slick and intelligent, getting gunned down in an alleyway like that seems pretty insulting.

And this is canon ? that's it?!

EDIT: This guy covers the vidya lore.

I don't know about Fishburne, but Weaving said he had a schedule conflict and Lana the Wonder Troon refused to delay shooting and basically told him to fuck off. You know, the most iconic character in "her" shitty franchise and the only one anybody still gives a shit about. But whatever, baby, you do you.

Is Cyberpunk 2077 a stealth sequel to Enter the Matrix?

Especially since Agent Smith is one of the most ironic movie villains every. Not only is Lana not a woman, but not a smart person either

This is a stealth prequel. We're seeing an earlier iteration of the Matrix in which the integral anomaly is slightly older when it manifests. Movie will end with Thomas Anderson meeting the Architect, who tells him this is the 15th time they are going to destroy Zion. Thomas agrees to return his code to the source and reboot the Matrix, but warns the Architect, "One day, there will be another one ... a new one ... like me, who will overthrow your oppression." The Architect says, "When that happens, I'll be ready," and a CGI Hugo Weaving walks into frame and looks right into the camera.

If I'm wrong I'll eat my .
That actually sounds kinda fun, so we can be sure that it won't be like that.

There is going to be at least one character who is a man inside the Matrix but a woman outside, I'm betting on it.

Especially as the brothers couldn't do that with Switch in the first film.

My money's on Bluey being the troon.

The irony is that the Matrix is supposed to be a lie, so had that been filmed then Switch’s existence implicitly supported Cipher’s argument.

Nah, the truce was that humans could leave the matrix if they so desire it and the humans only have to cease hostilities in the real and in the matrix to keep it, that went to the shit when it was discovered that the machines were subtle brainwashing people so they would not want to leave and the humans were making a super fortress in the deeps of the earth with enough guns and anti machine measures that would make israel proud, architect did not lie, both sides could not stop being imbeciles and war is on the menu again

Is almost guaranteed that it will have a troon but will last like 10 seconds because we dont want to offend the Wumaos consoomers of China

Also i passed the morning reading the wikia and found amusing that the game implied that Neo already returned before as a woman called Sara Edmonton but because our favorite molester on hollywood did not like it the development team canned it and even they were not much into the idea

How much has changed in 12 years, if The matrix online was active today it would be louded as grrrrrepresentation on gayming

I find it incredibly difficult to believe that Lana Wachaowski knows what happened in a shitty MMO from 15 years ago that nobody played, and even more difficult to believe that he cares enough to actually implement plot from it into his movie.
