Whenever I see someone say this, it always means something like "we stopped telling people it's weird to get off on wearing a diaper while clamping staples to your nipples and it's even weirder to publicly state that on your social media". You can say someone's acting dumb/gross without it being mocking and I'm not sure why it's referred to as "bullying".

I'd argue bullying (not the "please don't wear diapers and walk your girlfriend around on a leash" variant, actual bullying) has gotten worse among younger crowds, even grown ass adults are acting more and more like they're still in high school sometimes from what I hear and experience. The main difference is that blatant fisticuffs and locker-shoving has been out of fashion, that's been zero tolerance for a few decades. A majority of bullying is now online and/or even more passive aggressive and two-faced. Take a look at online shaming and you'll notice how much it focuses on excluding and badmouthing the baddie until they either just give up and disappear, or commit suicide.

If you dealt with this yourself or had a friend/family member deal with it, this is just how girls have always bullied. Even bullying basically became effeminate, more or less, and while all bullying is demoralizing, the way girls bully each other is inhuman. No wonder suicide rates have gone up for younger crowds.

It definitely took me awhile to realize Nietzsche was misunderstood. I don't buy into his philosophy completely (no philosopher is perfect), but his sentiment seemed pure. Unrelated, but I find it funny that Tolstoy and a Berdyaev (my favorite philosophers) had opposing opinions on Nietzsche even though they kinda argue the same points. Highly recommend both to anyone with a philosophy bug or into civil disobedience and anarchy as a school of thought.

The boondocks pretty much never give a fuck about softening up and getting passive, forgot to consider that area. Inner cities can barely enforce their policies since they already can't afford to enforce anything most of the time, unless they're rich or it's the advanced classes without the hoodrats, in the case of actual schooling. Enforcing any policies or placing standards on mostly black or minority groups would be called racist now, though, so they can do whatever the fuck they want while everyone only intervenes if someone is about to die. Even then, sometimes that doesn't happen.
I never went to school in the hood and its been years since I've stepped foot into a high school, but taking a look at online ghettoes like Twitter or Instagram and hearing things from anyone still dealing with or in the public school system shows the shift pretty well.

Catching this late, but it's not just Congress being eerily quiet over this. Mainstream media is also quite muted in their selling of this (in terms of the usual) right now; saw a bit of Tapper on CNN earlier and there was more on 9/11 than Covid when it's usually wall to wall fearmongering over muh case numbers.

Really feels like even some of the true believers are hesitant to fully get behind this.

Because it is -doomed- to failure. There are numerous constitutional grounds to come at it from, multiple procedural grounds, and all this done to a SCOTUS who has slapped them exactly for this kind of thing a week prior. It was a desperation move, plain and simple. And with the internal civil war now going loud, everyone else has much bigger things to worry about in the immediate future than the demented old man's feeble attempts to retain power.
