US Joe Biden News Megathread - The Other Biden Derangement Syndrome Thread (with a side order of Fauci Derangement Syndrome)

Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I don't know why Neil Breen was the first thing to come to mind when I saw the prerecorded address today but it feels right.

C'mon, maaaaaaaaaan!

Our nation is fucked unless someone hurries up and does something.

The reason the Left propagates itself so easily these days is because they don't care about hypocrisy or ethics. They brute force their way through everything. Meanwhile, the Right fights with it's hands tied behind their back. If you want to win, stop "losing with dignity" and "being the better man" and start playing to win. There are no bad tactics, only bad targets.
The problem seems to be more of a language issue. Basically the rank and file on both sides don't have complex arguments, most political discussion being boiled down to bumper sticker slogans.

The right needs to take some classes on persuasion. In the case of socialized healthcare point out that in order for it to be successful you would have to change the social contract instead of simply going "taxation is theft."

And indeed I wish there was a think tank that actually did try different approaches to things rather than boiler plate reactions.

While I agree that the right needs to be more combative you need to get people to actually be coherent and eloquent instead of sounding like Joe Dirt.
The Washington DC area has gotten significant upgrades including a large-ish 15 mile no-fly zone as well as (rumored) missile launchers, etc.

The rest of the country, including NYC, has gotten small flight restriction areas around active sporting events and there are now permanent no-fly zones around Disney World and Disneyland. These do absolutely nothing except keep advertising planes/blimps from annoying the corporations that paid for legislators to get these restrictions in place. They're so small in area that by the time someone notices they've been breached and determined they were a threat the damage has already been done. There are somewhat larger restrictions around major events like the Superb Owl that may actually involve having fighters already in the air.
I would like to know more about the "Superb Owl." Or I'm stealing that to use elsewhere.
His tenure as president notwithstanding, I don't really like Trump as a person, but holy fuck do I have a ton more respect for him now.
That is actually a business deal technique. You give people the option of going "back to normal" after testing the premium package.

So Biden was the "Back to normal" option and we can see that, well, normal sucked. Really, really sucked.

There's some photographic evidence to suggest that launchers do indeed cover the airspace in Washington. Obviously it's pretty beyond question the White House has them but I'm personally inclined to believe many federal buildings in the D.C. area do. Especially Langley.

Meds. Take them.

Unlike other politicians, when Trump pretends to give a shit about his constituents, he at least looks like he's trying to be sincere.
Agreed, the same reason I find him personally repugnant is the same reason I believe him when he does something positive. The man has no filter, is a boorish man, a braggart, a cheater, and a narcissist.

But he's -honest- about being all of those. He's upfront about being who and what he is. I can accept that.

The fact he appears to have taken his health seriously is a big boon to him. The question of his health will inevitably come up given Joe's degradation. By losing a lot of weight and changing the spray tan out for the Florida sun, he can really reduce a lot of that worry.
And after 4 years of taking shit from every possible angle...

He's taken his health seriously. Which is much to his credit. He probably had a long talk with a few doctors about what he needed to stay strong for another 8 years and appears to have not only taken their advice but had the willpower to do it.

So, we calling this at midnight? That Mandate thing, hooo boy, even if we did a week delay to call it just to be completely fair that meant that this was gonna be doomed.

I'm happy to do whatever. Which Midnight, because there's a few to choose from. Same with approval ratings. I saw CNN had him above 50%, I imagine others have him at 20% 🤷‍♂️
The star wars 'come as a sith' cosplay is a bit shit this year.
At the Miss Teen USA pagent, one rowdy onlooker shouts "GET YA TITS OUT"

Joe Biden: "GET ON WITH IT!!! Jill has taken my watch and i can't miss mcguiver"

CNN had to pull some -funky- math that even the other left-wing pollsters called them out for to get that 50. Basically, they decided to backdate every single one of their polls -out to three weeks- to get their average. Then, as if that were not enough, assert without evidence that it was not sufficiently skewed to match 'realistic demographics" and put a 1.2/0.8 skew on the results, for Democrats... atop their already existing oversampling.

Even fucking YouGov's pollsters called them out for it, and it's been the butt of a ton of jokes in my company messaging chat since it happened.

Things aren't looking good for Biden. Even with CNN and others purposefully skewing polls heavily in Biden's favor, his disapproval rating still stands at an average of 48%+ while his approval rating averages around 45%. He's dipping incredibly hard right now. CNN released an article yesterday going over their new polling policy because the polls they were getting were so terrible they couldn't possibly show them to their audience without losing a huge amount of face.

Whats worse, if it goes to SCOTUS, that ruling can -severely- harm any mandate pushes, even private company ones. Doing this right on the heels of the Moratorium ruling is bad, because it's actively incentivizing SCOTUS to specifically rule in as hostile a manner as it can.
Permit this tangent, but do you think the Eviction ruling and general hostility the administration has shown SCotUS affected Breyer’s recent comments regarding stepping down? I took his refusal to step down to be motivated by a distrust in the current admin. It seemed he would rather hope a more competent Democratic admin steps up, before he himself leaves office.

You have -no idea- the degree to which the CNN thing is being mocked by people who do polling. It's flatly dishonest, just outright meant to lie, and even the left-wing outlets fucking hate it.

To be clear, most of the push polling -isn't intentionally dishonest-. The massive oversampling is out of a sincere belief that the demographics are actually that. It's fucking stupid and ideologically blinded, but not intentionally lying.

The CNN shit is intentionally lying.

Breyer isn't an ideologue and has broken from the Democrat judges before. His personal judicial views do largely fall alongside their opinions, and the man is True & Blue, but he is -not- an ideologue. While I don't have any personal in to know more about him, it'd not surprise me to learn and is my running hypothesis that he actually hates the fact that Obama replaced good judges with rubber stamps.
