I'd been following a local munchie dude. (Not quite enough entertaining material to be a full cow, but a calf with potential.) He came to my attention via mutuals posting a wheelchair gofundme-- full of red flags. I was like huh, munchie dude, that's rare. Started spying on his constant litany of complaints about the system. I've been following along for months now.

Just the other day, I was a couple years deep into his social media history. There was a reference to trans rights, and it hit me. This dude complains like a woman, because he IS a woman. Found the name change to confirm.

So my rare male munchie, while reasonably passing, was born XX. Go figure. I'm saving screen grabs in case she gets interesting enough to share.

I take a break from posting because real life gets chaotic and Tess went and died on me. I am tempted to believe Tess is actually dead, but, yeah, her online friends are being weird about it.

Anyway, Chelsea / @tanzchelsea is supposed to be getting her hysterectomy on Wednesday, as long as there's a bed for her. Also, she had her appointment with Dr. Henderson the other day. According to Chelsea, Dr. Henderson believes her CCI is "very severe" and she may also have Atlanto-axial instability (AAI). At some point in the future, she's supposed to be getting more imaging done and an in person visit with Henderson to see if she needs a neck fusion. Exciting.

Lol, munchies. This histrionic overreaction to a single small thyroid nodule (even if it is on the isthmus) is hilarious. Millions of people have nodules on their thyroid. Thyroid cancer is one of the cancers with the best prognosis, generally not even requiring any chemotherapy, just surgery and RIT. Mortality rate is like 0,7%.
And without a thyroid scintigraphy she doesn't even know if it is a toxic or non-toxic nodule. A toxic adenoma would explain occasional bouts of hyperthyroidism. Also, there are only a few cases of toxic nodules being malignant in medical history. Therefore, toxic nodules are not considered to be at risk for malignancy and are usually just treated with a few weeks of blockers if hyperthyroid plus RIT.
Also, chances are that the next time she has an ultrasound the nodule will be gone. Happens all the time. The thyroid is a dynamic and highly active organ.

Edit: What are the chances she pushes for surgery? Then she can claim hypothyroidism and cancer survivor (whether she had it or not) and take hormones every day. She will also get a bunch of health issues from it that she can exploit.

Not to sound like a total sociopath, but in a way, I'd love to see it turn out to be an anaplastic carcinoma*. These women are so desperate to be Really Sick for Real, and it would be fascinating to see how one of them dealt with actually being ill. They seem to know exactly how far they can push their bodies without doing significant lasting damage, and the rare exceptions (Jacquie, ALF) appear to be accidental and sudden. It would be interesting to see one of them get their wish.

I remember reading in Dr. Marc Feldman's 'Playing Sick' that there are more documented male than female munchies; about two thirds being actual men, which was a hell of a surprise to me as I associate it with histrionic young(ish) women. So I'm guessing men are the ones more likely to turn up at hospitals seeking treatment as they certainly don't make up the majority in terms of munchie media-whoring. As you've noted, the one you found is not only rare, but a biological woman.

I’m not a doctor but I can’t imagine that the seething anger Laura has 24/7 can be good for her health. I couldn’t even imagine what it’s like to be in that much of a rage all day long every day. And the more she alienates people around her and spends more time alone she’ll probably get worse. Of course if you’re having ultrasounds all the time you’ll find little things that would have gone unnoticed. How many people end up with huge tumors because they feel fine and have been walking around with it forever ? Not everyone is privileged enough to be at the doctor every week

Yeah I actually raised this as an issue with the increasing prevalence of smartphone-based ultrasound devices. They don't cost very much and if you poke around on someone long enough you'll find something that lets you get into the big bucks ICD codes.

Dr. Mohammed Shamji was Dr Fraser Henderson's protégé in Toronto until he murdered his wife in 2016.

There obviously was a ton of reasonable and informative articles about what happened, but a bunch from the people/Munchies they were treating/hacking into. The thing that seems the most strange is the patients don't seem to care that a family was ripped apart, a wife and mother killed, and the Dr off to jail for 14 yrs no parole...or they their surgeon obviously has a huge anger problem...only that they now can't get the surgery. No sense of "that's awful, what an awful man", just 'well now where will I get my surgery"...

The wife was also a Dr, she was a Family Physician. She was strangled and stuffed in a suitcase and dumped in the Humber River.
