Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? Does he even have a running mate yet?

I'm reminded of a Let's Read of Victoria by William S. Lind (the guy who made '4th Generation Warfare' and 'Cultural Marxism') popular) which is basically a somewhat PC-friendlier Turner Diaries. The guy's a minor lolcow honestly and his book is what you'd expect from that but there is this chapter where the Feds have conscripted entire street gangs Roman Foederati-style into the Army and this unironically makes me wonder if that's going to end up on the table going forward.

Given that the current administration seems to be running on a collective sub-room-temperature IQ level, they might think they COULD do that, but I doubt very much that it would work since most gangs are a bit occupied with fighting each other over control of city blocks. Good luck to anyone who thinks they can get them working in a single direction over anything more than a few hours or a few days.

No one wearing a mask except when the camera is on. At this point, no one cares about Delta - Everyone who is vax'ed just going out to the bars and licking off floors or whatever. Wasn't it FDR who kept showing his wiener to peeps on the daily but never on camera? I mean, I get it why they do it, but fucking a'. America and all corporates/etc are just going to have to accept that there is not going to be a 100% vac rate and that no amount of "DEAD REPUBLICAN WHO PROMOTED ANTI-VAX DIED FROM COOF" articles and non-stop reminders of mask wear is going to convince that remaining population. They should just accept this by now and open everything back up because right now it's just an economic slowdown and niggas who are 100% never going to get vaxed still be hitting all the bars and clubs and shit with no remorse or care. They ain't ever going to wear a mask just because Biden does it in all his photo ops - Shit, they would do the reverse of everything he does, lol.

Well in the book it very much doesn't work, they're only there to get bowled over with contemptuous ease by the author's self insert Christian militia on their quest to throw all the college professors into a literal pit of fire (it's that kind of book, as sympathetic as it may sound in current year Clown World).

It was LBJ, his penchant for using his large size in general to intimidate people into doing what he wanted was called the Johnson treatment. There's a possibly apocryphal anecdote of him being asked by reporters why the latest troop movement in Vietnam was necessary and he just whipped out his hog and pointed to it saying that was why.

Gavin Newsom's little faux pas at a very expensive upscale restaurant while he was telling everyone to close their own restaurants and stay in their pods didn't really do much against him, he's still probably going to weather recall. No reason to think any amount of 'you're the real superspreaders!' will work at this point.

In a separate farewell note, Olick also said: “Though too often underappreciated by our fellow citizens, I am continually struck by how many millions of Americans sleep in safety every night because so many at DHS do not sleep.” Olick didn’t immediately respond to requests for comment.

The shakeup comes as the Biden administration tries to grapple with the flow of migrants at the southern border. Higgins is a career civil servant and has worked for the federal government for over 20 years whereas Olick was most recently a prominent official at SKDK, the powerful Democratic strategic communications firm. She recently led the firm’s ballot initiative practice.

Employees and senior officials at DHS have also been working non-stop on other crises that their department is taking a lead on including responding to the impacts of Hurricane Ida and helping vet tens of thousands of Afghan refugees who the U.S. evacuated from Kabul in August.

They just need to accept that covid 19's gonna be come a non entity and that the world can't live with the restrictions and it's causing the economy more than the virus itself.

To be fair, getting Doordash while playing FFXIV is a pretty fun sin. Ain't nothing better than being drunk at 2 PM and eating an entire pizza naked in your computer chair and now it being socially acceptable.
