You know, I kind of took for granted how unbelievably low his view counts are on his videos for someone of his notoriety; even me being a nobody hobbyist YouTuber am crushing his numbers on a per video basis.

Thinking about it, the stuff that I make is made because I want it to exist, right? Like whatever I'm making a video on I either see some kind of need, or I want to give a take on it in some way. Seeing some people looking forward to the Month in Review videos has me really looking forward to making them because producing something that people enjoy just feels nice you know?

DSP's shit on the other hand... It's just completely soulless garbage. Like I can't think of a single piece of value in it. His takes are worthless because he's an uninformed fence-sitter, he's not charismatic, he yells and begs, and he sucks ass at games. Even his music and artwork is stolen. He can't even make his own fucking THUMBNAILS.

I think I finally get what he means when he calls his YT channel an "archive" -- it's a graveyard where his content goes to die, mostly untouched and unwatched except for detractors looking for a clip through PigPigGo. No one is excited to see a new DSP video in their sub feed.

I think you're struggling with this concept somewhat for a simple reason; the videos you are making, even using as an easy on topic example in the monthly or game play through income total videos, are being constructed with the concept of being useful/entertaining for the audience of them in mind as the driving force behind their production. The videos Phil shits out? Just an archive, except now he streams there too, so even that's a default answer lie now thanks to changing circumstances he's too lazy to shape up on his end at all. Of course shitty videos will struggle to get to five digits of views, they're fucking terrible! Of course a video created with the audience for it primarily in mind is going to have a better chance of success, it's not conceived to be shitty for them when they watch it! Yes, these are both simple concepts and one shouldn't have an excuse to be allowed to occur while the other should be the default for both examples being compared, but the fact they're not is why you're astounded by it, because you're forgetting the bedrock foundational difference between the two examples.

Have any restreamers gotten ahead of the curve and just started titling their broadcasts under the banner of "This is How You Don't STREAM" yet? Because holy shit that's a missed opportunity for a meta laugh if I ever saw one if it hasn't been a thing to this point.

Actually thats a really good idea. Because even in my 10 viewer streams me and my co hosts just riff on his dumb shit. Probably too frequently.

Oh hey... Another thing that could add viewers and create interest and $$ for Phil.

Having an occasional co-host to game and talk with.

Even the beat monologue in the world can have a hard time competing with two guys just sitting and riffing of eachother, that’s where the magic of an entertaining conversation happens.

But, nah... Let’s have a stream with 100 viewers that’s Phil’s personal echo chamber.

Weird how he was a legit Sopranos fanboy with the swaggery walk, Italian poser lingo and leather jackets. Obviously one of the points the show was making would fly over his head... They were all Italian posers to begin with, and Phil aped them anyway. A shitty ripoff of a shitty ripoff. Fitting. I guess he's not excited for Many Saints of Newark, either. Regarding coop, honestly Leanna wasn't a bad content creator when she grew out of aping Phil. Her channel's gone now with no archive but her Sleeping Dogs playthrough showed she had mostly shed the annoying parts of her personality, and she was in all fairness reasonably above average at games. Beating RE5 on pro was never super hard, you could use a ton of incredibly busted weapons to do so, but it's still a pretty nice feat.

I can however confirm that Kat is about as bad as Phil at games on a good day. At this point he should give us at least a creeper shot to prove she's still around on a roommate level. Coop streams would be another slam dunk that he'll never do. And in all honesty, people would show up to call Khet a fat horse. If Phil's above doing coop with similarly radioactive people like RTU, Wings or LTG, and above the potentially highly profittable ones (Badbunny+DSP do Re5 on pro and Re6 on No Hope, that would be legitimately hype) he's not gonna bring someone "normal" on camera. Not for all the gabbagool in the world.
