Let's pretend for one moment that he does die before the election, just for the funsies. What happens then? Will the nomination revert to option number 2, aka Bernie Sanders? Or will his running mate automatically replace him just the way Vice-President is supposted to step in after the Big Man in the White House chokes on a piece of matzo? If Trump does return in 2024 I don't know how he's going to deal with finding competent and loyal people to staff his admin when he was clearly so bad at it the first time. His pick of Milley for Chairman was probably the worst one he made.

Not sure about Milley in particular, but most of the picks Trump had were decided in part by the Republican senators only letting in certain people. It's why Trump eventually had to start having the few loyal picks play musical chairs moving around constantly as 'acting' this and that.

Honestly there probably needs to be some sort of Trump-friendly activist groups to pressure congressmen to stay loyal and allow Trump loyalists to be appointed. The closest we got to this before were a few e-celebs like Loomer who would get openly mocked by Republican congressmen. Which seems to be due to a persistent belief on the right that if Trump wanted to get in better people or have the GOP support certain legislation that it would've just happened. The reality is a lot more annoying where you need a larger force of activist groups pressuring congressmen constantly to stay in line since most of the GOP seem eager to demonstrate how 'principled' (or cucked) they are rather than make show of effective they are at supporting their constituencies. So you end up with honorable losers like Rand Paul rather than delirious winners like the Dems who feel like only getting 90% of what they wanted is a total loss.

I'm doubtful as to the amount of capital Newson actually has and whether it was well spent. His declining capital is the reason why the recall happened at all and the support he got from out of state big name Dems is sus, like with Harris and Biden. I don't think they can cheat in the same way as 2020 because Republican derangement syndrome isn't as big as TDS.

If we're talking coifers, Newsom's are unlimited - the main reason the Recall was uphill to begin with, and probably why the polls "shifted" this much so quickly; the low info Dems probably now just realized there's a recall election going on.

Except we see the inverse of that with every other election, even in 2020. The most the Blue parts of California can get is mask mandates. Vaccination mandates haven't been enacted by Newsom and probably won't be obeyed anyways.
