And on the subject of tragic backstories, I’m going to provide an example.
A case study if you will, and see what you think about it.
Newborn child is adopted by a law abiding and stable family that’s comfortably middle class, newborn child was also born inside a women’s prison while mother was incarcerated for armed robbery.
Like I said though, adopted into a stable
and law abiding 2 parent family with no history of criminality and substance abuse issues.
Child gets older and starts showing signs of aggression and anti social behavior, child’s also adopted sister does well academically and is popular.
Fast forward- bad seed child is now severely mentally in a very scary way that doesn’t get better, heavily abuses all the worst substances for that mental illness, has been convicted for manslaughter, burglary, AND has killed for drug related gang reasons.
Adopted sister has a successful career and marriage far far away from him, and she found out as an adult that her mother was an actual crack whore and didn’t know who her dad could be.
Bad seed found out his biological dad went to prison for murder, is also severely mentally ill, and the whole biological family is a nightmare of drug abuse and criminality and mental illness.
And bad seed’s parents tried. In a horrible twist of irony, bad seed’s adoptive dad works with the state to help LAW ABIDING citizens find work. Bad seeds Dad has never had a parking ticket and is an old school republican.
Nature or nurture?
