I have no idea what he’s saying but I’m pretty sure it’s something stupid.
I know the original context for the image Lily used, so this seems to be her saying "it's cool that you're enjoying the game despite its flaws, but please let other people discuss the game's flaws and the wider problems regarding Game Freak's business practices".
So... a surprisingly level-headed take from Lily.
...
Eh, probably a fluke.

Glass of Water : The Historical Revisionism of "Modern Standards”

This clarifies her thoughts from the previous glass of water, the one where she’s recording while ill. Lily is furious that her message was misunderstood as “media made for a different era should be looked at differently and not held to the standards of today” and is blaming this fan misunderstanding on well a lot of things:

The TLDR:
Examine the media you consume with a more critical progressive lens even if it hurts.

Also

When critiquing media set in the American civil war south black people are the only opinions that matter. It can not be hand waved away as ‘It was not a different time’ because white people were as dismissive as people are now. But back then they would phrase it as [horribly forced American southern accent] “Who cares what dem’ uppity niggers think?” She bleeps the word nigger but the message is clear.

While we’re on the subject when speaking about media like Rocky Horror. Trans people’s opinion on that film is the only one that matters.

She drives this home saying that she understands what it's like. She loves the Warcraft universe but she still is critical about it and would not hesitate to beat the writers of the new era of Warcraft to death with a rock. J.K Rowling too.:stress:

'Capitalism' and 'induced deadlines'.

She chose this profession and has refused to consider other options. She works entirely at her own pace and has said plenty of times that things are ready when they're ready. She has said she refuses to accept sponsorships (assuming she actually receives offers). We also know she doesn't really edit anything she writes and certainly doesn't run it by a second person to get their opinion on her wording.

Sorry, Lily. 'I made shitty videos because I was FORCED to!' is not a valid excuse.

(And that's ignoring the 'you guys don't give me enough money' and 'somehow EoT making videos made this one come out bad' (?!?).)

While we’re on the subject when speaking about media like Rocky Horror. Trans people’s opinion on that film is the only one that matters.

She still hasn't bothered to watch Rocky Horror, huh? Or at least read a different hit piece about it.

For those not aware, one of the songs in the movie, Sweet Transvestite, includes the refrain, "I'm just a sweet transvestite / From Transexual / Transylvania". People who have not seen the movie would obviously assume this means that Dr. Frank N. Furter is explicitly transexual.

The joke is that Frank N. Furter is a renegade alien scientist from the planet Transexual in the Transylvania galaxy. There are no transgender people in Rocky Horror. If only the people represented are allowed to speak about a film then trans people aren't allowed to talk about Rocky Horror at all.

It's interesting, she says the only value of problematic media is that it makes us reflect on the time it was written and reexamine our own biases and whatnot, but in this same video she refuses to examine why her channel might be failing and chooses to blame it on as many external things as possible. Height of irony right there.

She ends the video with like a minute and a half compilation of gay clips to show "how far we've come", but she only uses clips from Owl House, which says to me it's the only thing she could think of. It's always one of her 3 things, she never branches out. *sigh*

In other news, people are beginning to raise concerns about Lily's relationship with Lolo (that one chick that's been in her streams recently) Lolo's 24 and has been watching Lily since she was 10. 14 years ago Lily would have been 15.

"Only fools think Gone with the Wind glorifies the Confederacy. " - Armond White, Black Film Critic.

Looking him up for the first time, Armond White and Lily would get along when it comes to being contrarian about movies.
This dude is taking the piss out of Hollywood and hates the majority of critics who do not like him, citing racism. But knowing our girl she'd call him a racist bootlicker anyway for not liking black movies starring black actors and instead preferring shlock like Jack & Jill and the Transformers series.

Oh fuck me, it's finally here.
Keep in mind that I wouldn't be doing this if I didn't need this video for... future reference.
0:00-0:43 Lily says that this was originally supposed to be part of the Princess Knight video, intro, Lily says she's on painkillers in this video.
Notes: I think I'M gonna need to get zonked out on something to watch this video. Anyway, only the audience Lily has cultivated would treat a possible insinuation that "it was a different time" as a cause for outrage and concern.
0:44-1:54 Lily starts talking about Gone With the Wind (this was the pre-released excerpt), sarcastically says that everybody uncritically accepted the glorification of slavery" and shows pictures of people doing just the opposite because sarcasm
Notes: This bit is stupid for the reasons I've previously noted, that no, these people did NOT "know better".
1:55- 2:07 Lily says that Gone With the Wind was popular but widely criticized.
Notes: I noticed a caption saying that only white people are allowed to criticize books. Wait for it...
2:08-2:40 Lily says that black people, and only black people, were critical of Gone With the Wind and white people didn't care what black people thought, and says that white people "controlled the narrative" even though they didn't do a very good job since the fact that black people protested the movie hasn't been scrubbed from history.
Notes: Great. Just great. It's another "Notice me Stitch-senpai!" video.
2:41-3:59 Lily talks about Rocky Horror Picture Show, saying that cis gays (UGGGGGHHHHHHHH) don't care about the portrayal of trans women as predators even though these stereotypes are how conservatives view the entire LGBT+ spectrum, not just the T.
Notes: Did she just...you guys heard that, right? She said that the movie had all the decadent fucking around- and rape- that cis gays could possibly want. I hope she didn't mean that the way I interpreted it.
4:00-4:38 So apparently back during its initial release Princess Knight was criticized by Japanese feminists for being misogynistic, and the author rewrote it.
Notes: "Japanese feminists" means "radfems", by the way. Never listen to them. They especially have it out for Magical Girl shows like Princess Knight.
4:39-6:29 - Lily finally addresses how Hibari-Kun and Quagmire's Dad can hit too close to home for trans viewers despite transphobes being repeatedly made fun of, says that men are the only ones who hate trans women even though she has to know about transphobia in several lesbian circles...right? She says that trans women are called "traps" (please, not this again).
Notes: I noticed that she only talks about trans WOMEN in this segment.
6:30-8:09 Lily says that the opinions of the affected group are the only ones that matter (presumably unless the "outsiders" agree) and says that white people don't care what black people think, cis people don't care what trans people think, muh racism in fandom, please somebody kill me.
Notes: "Hmm... maybe I should listen to black people on the subject of racism. Oh hey, this Candace Owens person looks interesting!"
8:11-9:39 Lily talks some more about white LGBT+ people and how a lot of LGBT+ media is bad (even though she has previously said otherwise at the end of her Creative Vision video), says that critically engaging with media you consume is important (she doesn't actually do this and never will).
Notes: Lily talking shit about Noralities was the only funny part of this entire video Oh wait, it's because they're white. Well, never mind. Moment ruined forever.
9:40-10:48 Lily says that liking problematic media uncritically says bad things about you even though, let's be honest, somebody saying that they like Gone With the Wind while still being aware of its faults would wield the same resulting judgement. She thinks that people who consider things to be products of their time think that these uppity n*****s just need to shut up.
Notes: I literally cannot imagine anybody liking Gone With the Wind, it's so fucking boring.
10:49-13:07 Lily says the only reason representation has improved is that people criticize and pressure good representation into existence, flip-flops between "things have changed" and "things haven't changed" about five times in the span of a minute or so, video FINALLY ends.
Notes: I thought Lily only "tolerated" Lumity because she wishes that Amity wasn't white? Whatever. I'm so tired that I physically cannot care anymore.

Conclusion: This was fucking awful. I cannot begin to illustrate how painful this was to sit through. But alas, I am a firm believer in intellectual honesty, so I can't in good faith talk about this video elsewhere without watching it here first.

Oh wow , I actually find myself agreeing with some of what he said. (Silver is an annoying little bitch, level curves, placement/availability of the new Pokemon)

All valid points...

Which have been repeatedly pointed out by fans in the Pokemon community for over a decade now.

Don't worry, it's a common misconception. Lily seldom makes any actual clever or insightful opinions herself, she just parrots people smarter then her and acts like the kudo's she gets from doing so make her ranting worth something.

Another person commented that from their experience of high school Lily swung her lightsaber in First Lake Park when she was supposed to be in school. Lily has always been an asshole.

I don't think the Garcruncher person is new. I remember their Sideshow Bob pfp.

@King_Boo_Official I know at least two people who like Gone With The Wind, maybe 3. One was in it for the fashion and one was a southern apologist. Either way, both were more versed in the history and story than Lily. She needs to get out more.

>New video is about redemption arcs
Isn't that, like, every third video she makes? "Seventy Times Seven" was already an adequate video, I don't see how she could build upon it without being redundant.

Honestly, that's about what I'd expect. 'Course, I don't think being a southern apologist makes you "well-versed in history", at least not in the traditional sense of, you know, actually understanding it.
I, on the other hand, am well-versed in history enough to understand that Gone With the Wind takes place in 1861 but the Klan wasn't formed until 1866, so Lily's claims that the book humanized Klan members is literally factually false.

I'd rather not watch media at all if it meant analyzing it the way Lily does. What a joyless way to live life.
So there's that one Anita Sarkeesian quote you've probably heard before:
"It is both possible, and even necessary, to simultaneously enjoy media while also being critical of its more problematic or pernicious aspects."
It sounds good in theory, but nobody who says it ever practices it.
That was Lily's original stance on Steven Universe, and now, if I recall correctly, it's on her list of media that she thinks you're a bad person for liking.
To her and people like her, moving away from liking problematic things is the real end goal because "progressive principles" or whatever. The goal post has shifted from "you can criticize things and still like them" to "the fact that there's anything to be critical of makes this media irredeemable garbage".
