fam, i have been absent for a long time, but have been super glad to catch up. thanks, U_M for the most recent hooker lawsuit filings,… i know it is STILL not enough to get him a vexatious litigant ruling, but hot damn, “a hooker i can’t name right now but might could later” should be enough to get him shut down. this is one of the most clear examples for tort reform in this country. his lawsuit is, as some have commented, a livejournal entry the court is forced to read. (rate me late, all that jazz. i am good for it)

Happy to be of help

In regards to the payday loan case:

Russ borrowed the money on July 7th last year and didn't pay back the money for about a year.

Interestingly, the notice of dismissal doesn't state why they dismissed the case.

When the Mormons would show up, I just told them I wasn't interested, and didn't want them wasting their time.
They seemed to like that, and haven't bothered us since then.

The Jehovahs Witnesses, they're another story, they don't give up.
Mr. Cheese answered the door on them one afternoon, forgetting he was still wearing his pistol. The two old ladies said they were sorry for bothering us and haven't come back, but there's a new crew who are very persistent. I just don't answer the door. But they stuff their brochures under the door, in the window next to the door, under the door handle, and so on.
You can get JWs to give up by telling them you'll listen to them if they help you with your chicken slaughter that is currently ongoing.

I'm convinced does understand this, he just thinks he shouldn't have to work for it (muh dishability). It's suspected he was praised for achieving anything at all as a kid and it seems to have set a pattern in his mind where any feeble half assed attempt immediately leads to a standing ovation.
Sometimes I wonder how long he can go on like this.

On one hand, the man's mind is like a train on a track, completely incapable of stopping or changing course. At 52 or 62 will surely be even more Greerish than he is at 32.

On the other hand, I am sure reality smacks him in the face on a daily basis. I doubt he's gotten much special treatment (if any) since he graduated and completely exited the LDS bubble. Surely life will beat a lesson into him at some point?

I'm sure this Check City does this kinda thing all the time and it's standard procedure. Looking at their complaint, it looks like they just Copy-paste it with the names, dates and dollar amounts changed. I guess the main thing is threatening him with attorney's fees, which seems to have worked. And there's no value in it for them to spend any more time or pennies on the dismissal once he pays up, the job's done.

Pretty sure he just coughed up the dough. That's all these guys really want.
Either that or his parents did. Or even more hilarious: what if he took out a title loan on his car to pay off the payday loan people? But as funny as that would be, he's shown he can scrap together a surprising amount of money if he wants to. I think he either did a lot of gig work, or had to dip into his Emergency Hooker Fund. I'm still dying to know what exactly the payday loan was for. I know it was for his "startup" but even as stupid as he is, I really really want to know what he though he could do with $1000. Did he think he could create some marketing materials for a grand that would so impress potential investors that they'd pay off the note and hand him millions and tell him to go nuts? I must know! This is stupid, even by his standards.

reading the court documents, russ’s problem in this case is that he stupidly chose a payday loan, likely because he didn’t qualify for any type of installment loan, and payday loans are expected to repaid by your next payday or close to it. i am not entirely sure how he even qualified for that, other than that payday loaners are even more predatory than other types of loaners. however, he would have had to show some type of documentation that he would be good to repay the full amount by the predetermined payday, which he didn’t, with that as my guess, he likely had to source his parents as funds to pay off the loan, it was likely settled for less than the full amount, but they got something. all that to say russ is terrible with his money. whatever he spent the loan on, he spent MORE money after spending the loan money as he could not and would not pay it back.

edit: we also know with certainty that when russ gets in REAL legal trouble, his parents bail him out. he doesn’t pro se himself out of things he knows he can’t win.

I wonder how bad his credit is if he couldn't get a simple personal loan from his bank.
Oh, it is definitely on the wrong side of the tracks. Although, I could see Russell just going straight to a strip mall payday loan/check cashing store without even trying to get a loan from a legit bank or credit union just out of pure ignorance.

But these predatory loan stores exist for a reason, because quite a few people have bad credit and right now banks may be apprehensive to loan to people. Also, it is amazing how many people do not have bank accounts. It is very common amongst minorities to not have any type of checking or savings account. They can just go cash their checks at the check cashing store cause the banks are always "messing with their money". It is worth the $10 charge to do this. Nowadays with lots of places wanting to only do direct deposit for pay, many unbanked people have to get those reloadable debit cards. I wouldn't be surprised if Rusty is a Green Dot card carrier.

I'm willing to bet Russ never did anything to build up credit in the first place. And now he's absolutely trashed it, with a big flashing neon sign on his credit history that reads "HIGH RISK LIABILITY". Which is fitting, since that big neon sign shows up in every other aspect of his life as well.
