Other people will have better advice on what to do in this immediate moment, and that's fine.
But long term, I highly recommend
Dressing the Man by Alan Flusser. It's a very thorough overview on dressing in general. How to match colors, patterns, dimensions to your specific body shape, your specific hair color and complexion.
Dressing well does involve some bit of making choices specific to your body. If you look kinda pale and have dark hair, bold light+dark patterns will look good on you, they draw attention to your face. Whereas if your complexion is more muted, you might want to go with more subtle color combos and try and match the clothes to the hair color. (Otherwise you risk looking like a thumb sticking out of a fancy, attention grabbing suit. You don't want to show off the suit, you want the suit to show off your face.)
And it explains how to look good in a way that will last. Not just chasing after whatever today's current fashion is, but clothing choices that'll look good 10, 20, 50, probably 100 years from now.
Look at pictures of your parents from the 70's or the 80's (or however old or young your parents are, shit, we're gonna be having zoomers here...). I'm certain their clothes look distinctively of their era. You can learn to avoid that and just look good in a way that lasts.
You don't have to be a fru-fru, fashion-obsessed metrosexual (read: homosexual) to dress well. It's really a skill that any man should have at least a basic understanding of.
When you get back to the US just get in touch with
@Marvin and get the pickle suit. If you’re going to be representing the forum you might as well represent it at its best.
The pickle suit is timeless fashion.
