With a (questionable) W from James Drake, how would you rate season 5 of Fishtank?

  • 1 Star — Absolute disaster. Unwatchable, boring, production fucked it up bad, the fish were lame

On day 13, a couple hours after the rugpull there was a moment where Burt questioned Sam about the prizes, in which Sam said they were all real but mostly worthless (e. g. the TV was only worth like $50). Burt then asked about the Apple watch he gave to Ted, causing Sam to laugh and say something like "oh yeah, that was real. We didn't give it to Ted though, I don't know where it is. You probably should've kept it."

Predictably this caused Burt to whine briefly.

That videogame idea sounds so bad. Nothing unique or interesting, just a shooter where you kill waves of enemies, then restock during day time. They are just burning money with it.

Some roleplay adventure (text based, or point and click) would make more sense for Fishtank, where the draw is in the wacky fish and unconventional characters. Not shooting vampires, ffs.

Bet it won’t even be as good as Jimmycraft.

The vampire shooting doesn’t sound bad as a mini game in a point and click 2d RPG though. For fucks sake theres already sprites of a bunch of 2.5 fish and characters.

I have been able to excuse all the additional site features that try to gamify the viewing experience, as they largely can be ignored aside from some annoying sounds and popups if you decide to watch on-site with default settings…

However an API tie-in to the for this sort of experience, in an attempt to sell micro transactions with the tradeoff of allowing for the earning of more on-site tokens, is probably going to negate any actual good gameplay they manage to develop. Might as well do a cookie clicker clone with Sam Hyde’s face and call it a day.

There's another great one that he posted, Burt apparently called Connor's workplace to out him as a tranny chaser, and he is now accusing Burt of trying to "Tyler Clementi" him, which according to sneedchat researchers was a gay kid who killed himself after getting outed :story:. At least he's coming out as gay now.

Fair enough that Connor is taking the high road with this although it's shocking to absolutely no one that he's gay. I never bought Burt's 'nice guy' act post tank, it's clear he's used to blackmail and threats to get his own way. I'll always remember his 'I rape people I meet in bars' speech.

We were talking about this in sneedchat. This is the exact behavior he mentioned in the confessionals, how when someone left him scorned he would stalk, dox, and cyberbully them in an attempt to ruin their lives to the point of suicide.
