I almost got into a fight with my boomer/gen X mom and pooner sister about this. They kept saying how great Canada is and how Americans envy us up here and how it's all worse down there and blah blah blah. And I'm just like 'have you not noticed how shitty things are here?'. But they just kept insisting everything is worse down in the US and how lucky we are to be canadian without singling out any actual reasons WHY.
The reason we're better is because we're not American by definition. Trudeau literally said this a week ago. Our greatest clout is not being American. We don't have guns like they do. We have maple syrup and they have big Macs. Canadians think the very worst thing they could be is American.
