It's genius actually, most people won't do that, but tell me you can't imagine that some braindead indian won't type "Pirate Software saar" into his google saarch bar when he wants to download games illegally.
And considering how fanatic and easily impressed his audience is, I'm willing to bet a few pajeets are in there.

Just to clarify some details:

The part about it being a community effort isn't true. The game gives you plenty of hints, and almost outright spells it out for you on one of the final pages.
If you are autistic enough to spend hours staring at the manual, it's possible to solve it for yourself before even finding that page, provided you get some good guesses on what certain sets of symbols probably translate to.

You're completely right about the intended experience part though.



1 hour and 22 minutes in, he asserts that the language looks like a 1:1 transposition cipher.

To explain why this pissed me off so much:
From the start of the game, it is *not* clear that the language is even translatable.
The reason that it is unclear is specifically that it is so obviously not a 1:1 transposition.

As a blind player, at this point in the game, you have no reason to believe that the runes are any more than just a decorative stand-in for "withheld information".
I think it's literally designed to look as if it might not be possible - i.e. it is made very fucking obvious that the language is not just a 1:1 letter mapping to English - to discourage you from trying to translate the language in the starting area, instead of progressing through the game to find clues that make it significantly easier.

Man, I've seen the streamer awards clip so (unless he's vain enough to get them to throw on the same voice changer?) I know he's not faking it other than maybe voice training, but he definitely throws some filters/plugins on his stream setup, and way too many of them or tweaked badly. Don't mind me throwing some audio-tism/power level here but he's absolutely fucking around with way too much EQ/compression that makes him sound like he's always borderline peaking/clipping/distorted like some kind of deep fried meme. Combine that with how he often seems to just basically eat the mic and it sounds like shit. It's probably why it sounds all crunchy when he's leaning away from the mic as he's laughing here.

To me that clip sounds like a pitch changer fucking up. On the PS3 you were able to change the pitch of your mic, extremely basic settings you could only go up 5 steps (b) or down 5 steps (#). I used to play around with the menu, it was my first time ever messing with a voice changer, so from time to time I would mess around with it doing all sorts of wacky shit. When I watched that video I got flash backs to that shitty PS3 voice changer.

Between my clip of his shit fucking up, and the interview in the OP from a few years ago I think he's full of shit. I wouldn't be surprised if he had the streamer awards do that for him. Think about how much shit goes on there that we don't know about, because if someone says something they'll have big streamers turning against them.

Not an audio guy, but I'm guessing he EQ's his audio pretty heavily. The NEET Awards is a giant incestuous circlejerk, and the announcer did le funny about his voice so audio could be manipulated there, but that's not exactly provable. This (@ 15 seconds) sounds like he's cutting off some frequencies almost entirely (he's also fascinated with gnomes, which isn't surprising):
