Loot boxes are still around, although segregated mainly in sports games. The industry just moved on from loot boxes to battle passes for the time being. I think the EU has outlawed online gambling to where it's disabled in some video games.
In regards to this Stop Killing Games movement, I see it as fighting fire with fire. The consumer is taking action however they can to say to these companies: enough is enough. No way these unhappy consumers themselves could enforce long term change without a similar entity, in this case regulation, to aid into that goal. Ubisoft needs to be put in check however possible, so that their shady practices could cease or at the least, be held accountable.

There's a huge difference between revoking access to a game you own and shutting off servers for an online only game. This shit makes me so fucking sad, man. I've been following Ross at Machinima since 2007 and Accursed Farms since then. He's one of the best content creators left on YouTube at this point, and this completely selfless endeavor, which did NOT ask for monetary donations or any sort of support for him on that end, gets blasted and obfuscated by nepobabies and grifters. It's such a fucking shame we won't see any kind of real resolution legally towards stopping the practice of just ending games whenever the publisher feels like it. The only solution for many from this point on is just archive everything one cares about and hopefully figure out how to mod said games to allow for LAN or co-op functionality.
