I feel like this is only part of the cause for the increase in suicide rates over the past few decades. There are many reasons, among them social alienation — people are spending less time face-to-face and more time on social media, which makes them lonely and disconnected. Social media itself has algorithms designed to increase engagement by inducing negative emotions like anger, fear, and envy, which harms users' mental health. Children are having their brains rewired to expect constant dopamine, and many of them are becoming depressed and harming themselves as a result. Posting self-harm or suicide threats on social media gets engagement = dopamine. It's basically the perfect storm of risk factors, especially for young people whose brains are still developing.

Would a return to old school forums be a partial remedy for this? Because everyone is currently too online for a complete detox from the internet.

Yeah, basically. If enough countries legislate that socmed websites can no longer work like they do currently (by shoving an endless stream of content in your face and exploiting your psychological weaknesses to keep you engaged so you see as many ads as possible), it would help a lot. I'm obviously against the government deciding what users can post online, but in favor of them deciding how far big tech corporations are allowed to go when it comes to manipulating their users.

In the meantime, it helps a bit to increase awareness that you are not the customer of Meta/Google/etc. The advertiser is the customer, and your attention is the product.

Edit: And, of course, we can all avoid lionizing people who commit suicide because they couldn't put the phone down, which is tougher than it sounds. Even some Kiwis have trouble with this concept.

What a fucking flashbang to go from some kid trying to kill themselves to randomly seeing one of my favourite bands on the tranny death site. The band as a whole kinda reminds me of frank carter, there's just something missing about the newer shit, just feels flat despite me having miles better headphones now than when I first found them. Fucking hell. These pooners are always the girliest girls. I would have rather killed myself as an NLOG child than have a room like that. Maybe that's why they think they have to poon out, because they know no other way to be female.

Anyway. That free cleaning woman. I always hear soul crushing snippets from her experiences. She gets loads of really push emails asking for free cleans-from LANDLORDS. Not even depressed fuckers. Multiple property owning landlords that just want her to do their shit for free rather than pay for it.
I don't know how much of monotone freak this pooner is that, in the multiple times they would have been communicating, going in and out of this house and arranging it, they couldn't offer up the slightest bit of something that sounded like gratitude.
And once the autism diagnosis is in, that's a goodbye to having to consider taking responsibility for any behaviour ever again.

Actually visiting a doctor is like the last shot for a kid to sober up. Sit down, ass on a cold chair, reminding them that they're out in real life and this is a real thing that is happening. "We will be medically altering your body and ultimately cutting slabs of meat off of it". They need to be omega-groomed to go "yes daddy :) " through that cause their far-off friends tell them it's the right thing to do.

It's not their lack of social skills, friends, real life engagements, real world experiences, investment into their health. No, it's cause they were meant to have pathetic bitch tits.

Cult members do tend to be psychologically different (not necessarily weak-willed, but different) from non cult members, but that doesn't mean the NXIVM women were always meant to be branded with Keith Raniere's intials, or that the Heaven's Gate people were always meant to die in identical Nike shoes. I think people have a hard time grasping how cults psychologically manipulate victims over the internet. Then again, the general public have always had a difficult time grasping why people don't just leave cults when they're not being kept there by force or financial means.

I guess the simplest response would be yes, they are super mega ultra groomed, but it doesn't work on every child, just like not every adult is a good potential cult member. These children can't bear all the blame for their susceptibility to manipulation by adults, especially when their own parents (and, in some cases, the government) are cooperating and aiding their groomers.
