Same with this video I saw passed around.
In the likely event it's taken down. Some guy is proposing his own Internet 2 called "Betanet" that he claims would be on clearnet with no work on the users part. But it would also be immune to censorship due to mutually assured destruction? It doesn't make much sense to me how it would work in practice. It has 171k views.

sounds like complete bullshit (i didn't even watch the video)
i know a couple of things about computers and this sounds completely impossible off the bat unless he's an incredible supergenius with webrtc or something
you NEED custom software to set up an uncensorable overlay network there is NO WAY around it
also this is some faggot youtuber, the greatest technologies of tomorrow are mostly not being announced on fucking youtube

Yeah, I saw that in my feed and wrote it off pretty immediately as wishful thinking at best. Something something skitzoposting, something something meds need taking.

also why is this fag dropping a fucking specification it is universally known that some nocoder faggot dropping a huge specification never helps anything
in fact he's damaging these kinds of things by drawing attention away from serious, established projects like i2p and gnunet that could always use more help

every internet that has been designed from on high by somebody like this has completely failed
you know how they built the internet we have now? they did make specifications, but they didn't publish a bunch of shit and say "help me i need developers pls"
they made computers talk to each other and also wrote down how the computers are supposed to talk to each other
of course it went to shit over the years but this seems to be the model for making things that actually work: make the fucking thing

a part of me tells me this is probably like some sort of nft rugpull or something *sigh* (:_(
always ask these guys where their prototypes are

The euro is explicitly not affected by this. It does look like every Asian country except Japan is affected though, as well as South America, Mexico, and I guess Africa.

Many "lesbians" affected (see the main feed).

The Gamer (Rhiannon Bevan): Game Devs Say That Itch's Adult Content Ban Is Targeting Lesbian Games, Even If They're Safe For Work (archive)
In an expansive report from Trans News Network, numerous indie devs say that their work has been restricted or removed from Itch as part of the ban on adult content. They say that this is even the case with games that don't contain adult material, and it appears to be disproportionately affecting yuri and lesbian games.

That latter point was highlighted by journalist and content creator Ana Valens, who has been reporting on the ongoing censorship of adult material in games extensively. Sharing the report, Valens points out how an entire game jam - Toxic Yuri Game Jam - has been affected. As per the report from Trans News Network, more than half of the 200 games submitted as part of the game jam have been restricted or removed.

EDIT: They may have been hasty.

I know I unpacked this earlier but I think the headline is a bit misleading on this one and led to some misunderstandings of the situation

Itch seems to have impacted visibility for one creator's SFW games via search suggestion, with a ton of Toxic Yuri Game Jam games pulled as well for reasons that require extensive research and understanding to know whether it was for sexual content, adult themes, or perhaps neither (which could signal further concerns with how itch is handling yuri content).

The real issues I see are a creator's SFW yuri games seeing decreased visibility through an overarching search suggestion ban on finding the dev's titles via the search bar. You have to manually search for the games, seemingly because of one NSFW yuri demo. And that yuri games are *more likely to be at risk of paypros censorship in general* due to discussing adult themes & NSFW content

Toxic Yuri Game Jam was SIGNIFICANTLY impacted by itchio's response to paypros and further research is needed into the impact. I think there was a bit too much aggregation of TNN w/o added context or explanation, leading to panic from the hed. mea culpa for not providing context when I shared this

Just want to make sure we're all on the same page as I think this is a bit more narrow and precise than the hed may lead people to believe, it's not that the yuri tag is getting purged. Although itch should have been more upfront on paypros impacting queer creators

My theory: itchio banned search suggestion for an account if just one of their games was considered NSFW

This obviously can hurt visibility for SFW titles. A creator that does NSFW yuri and SFW yuri, for example

This is just a theory

Steam hates Worst Korea confirmed I guess, since Blue Archive's release was delayed for undisclosed reasons, and the KRW was affected by the PayPal ban.
