It is such a massive and pervasive problem that you legitimately sound psychotic trying to explain it to people. For parents that didn't grow up online their frame of reference is sketchy candy vans, and anybody would think it ridiculous to suggest there are several dozens of them on every block, but that is exactly what is happening in these digital spaces. It's just such a massive amount of groomers that simply visualizing it in any sort of scale looks downright conspiratorial. The fact that the people with the power to end the problem are the same ones who do not have this type of knowledge and experience online is a big part of the issue in of itself.

It's up there with the gay frogs. "Lonely kids with no friends go online and adults find them and give them attention and bend them to their way lest they lose that support network and soon they're pumping dick on Roblox". It's such a common thing online but you sound crazy saying it to people, even just 10 years older, who still think of strangers in vans and red sock feminism. "Oh please, why not tell the little boy he's a girl until he snaps out of it", basically giving root to his online fantasies in real life, enabling it further in good faith.

In some way it makes sense for americans with dark days ahead of them. Have you considered going to the police instead of asking KF for help?

If the guy was sexting a minor (which I assume was someone from your org in disguise, or how else would you know?) and you then confronted him, causing him to delete his account, you fucked it up.

I am leaving out a lot of context (because it has nothing to do with what I am asking), I know Ruben Sim and his team collects tons of user IDs of those who join into ERP maps and such, I am only asking where I can go to check and see if this guys account has been involved with that kind of stuff before. Was not asking for help reporting him to the police.

Sounds to me someone in their legal department told their PR department they're fucking up real bad. Especially with the bit where the called Schlep a vigilante which he never was because of his direct cooperation with law enforcement.

Which WOULD be fine and all, but they were told only to contact Schlep through his lawyers and they STILL tried to reach out to him directly. Even a kindergartner would know that's a major no-no when it comes to legal shit.
