Libertarianism can sound appealing until one of its adherents open their mouth on the topics of immigration, age of consent, LGBT "rights" and drug legalization. Even the more right-leaning ones can be disagreed with due to their views on protectionism, free trade and tariffs which can make them come across as political tools for international corporations that may see such people as a way to expand into markets they otherwise would not be allowed to enter due to being a risk for national security or a threat to local companies.

Ohio is like that with political families, if a bit more scattered powerwise. The DeWines are powerful, the Tafts were although I don't know if they are as much as they used to be. There's lots of the same last names that pop up in local elections, add to that Jeets strivers and Les Wexner's money and such and you just hope you get corrupt and competent. Which the state GOP mostly is and the state Dems mostly aren't. Competent that is, the state GOP is basically fine with Ohio characteristics, the state Dems are just corrupt and mouth breathing retards. If I recall, the relatively conservative Mises Caucus is in charge of the Libertarian Party nationally as of 2022 but the state parties are a complete toss up ideologically.
