Funny you should say that. I was just thinking about how the dynamic in these livestream clips seems really odd. It isn't necessarily that the girls are uncomfortable though I guess that probably happens here and there. And not even so much that they're pretending, though sort of. It's this attitude he's always trying to convey like "hey I'm just a guy's guy and I like guy things like titties" and it's almost as if he's trying to convince me. Not that he's straight. But that he's a regular and fun guy. But it always just seems weird and off and contrived in a way that's hard to articulate. It isn't as apparent on his non livestream videos. The complete lack of chemistry between these people doesn't help.Jeremy is a "girl's girl" (likes girly things) just like Melonie.
Also, I want to chime in on the Magic being cool in high school thing. I never played myself and don't know how to this day, but some of my skater friends in high school did and they were arguably cool. I have a distinct memory of one of them around 1997 or so complaining about all the new players with their crappy cards and I was pretending to half way understand. But since they had other things going on, there were girls around where Magic was being played. You could mostly get away with being any kind of secret nerd if you had a skateboard and wore band shirts. But of course there were more obvious nerds in the mix too who never bothered to figure out a way to seem attractive to the opposite sex. I guess what I'm saying is that Magic players weren't all social outcasts. I don't think it did anyone any favors as far as signaling any kind of coolness like Hambly seems to imply, but it wasn't a death sentence or anything.
