It has been what, weeks now? And still no solution to that "Error 153" BS in embeds. Every single embedded vid on every site -- even at youtube.com/embed or youtube-nocookie.com/embed doesn't work. The only "solutions" I see are still mostly Indians claiming the "solution" is "clearing the cache" in "Google Chrome" or the YouTube "app", which is BS.

Has anyone else noticed that YouTube has now added AI upscaled resolutions to lower quality videos, dubbed "Super Resolutions"? Obviously it looks like ass, as upscaling images and videos tend to look.

Switching back to the default 480p resolution though, I feel like the compression has been fucked with, as I can still see artifacts in some places of the video even on its normal resolution. I'm not sure if this is due to the AI upscaling feature that YouTube has added or the video itself, as I haven't tested this on that many videos.

What the fuck is going on, if I want to like or comment on a video, it prompts me to set up my own channel?

Fuck off.

Youtube's just fucked with their website again. They've switched the You / Subscriptions lists on the sidebar and made the "Subscriptions" button look like a fucking dropdown box so you're more likely to go to "Home" to get their algorithm slop.

Looks like FreeTube is broken again. It won't even let me search for videos.
TypeError: Failed to fetch
EDIT: Apparently an error with the VPN node I was using
EDIT 2: I can search but not watch videos *sigh*

Seems YT isn't pulling the "Error 153" BS in embeds on Windows, even with Firefox and uBlock. It does pull it with really old Firefox.

Freetube needs to tweak their error messages to where it accurately depicts that "log-in to verify you aren't a robot" shit that hapens when you watch a video for a very long time (or multiple videos in succession). I had to go on Grayjay to get an accurate error, otherwise I wouldn't have known because all Freetube does is spit out "API" errors like that's supposed to mean something. Thankfully, like your solution, I can just hop on a VPN, and it shuts YouTube up, until the videos start running like shit to where i turn off the VPN and then I can finally watch videos again.

What they SHOULD do next, is add something similar to yt-dlp where you just tell FreeTube to look for the cookie file in your computer so it spoofs that age-restriction bullshit and then that'll be one gigantic headache solved.

I must have tried blocking this fucking channel from my recommendations at least a half dozen times by now. I've tried "don't recommend channel," doesn't work. I've tried installing an extension that allegedly lets me block channels entirely, doesn't work. I still get illustrated gore of people and animals dying horrifically in my recommended section. Never, ever, fucking ever, do I watch this fucking slop, and it still rears its ugly fucking head time and time again. I fucking hate this nigger website so goddamn much. I JUST WANT TO LISTEN TO PINK FLOYD. FUCK OFFFFFFFFF

No kid should ever watch that video, feels like parody, set to a song about the horrors of war, wtf.
But that is expected from youtube, what I am perplexed by are the smileys underneath.
I feel like even considering responding to that question with a smiley is destroying my braincells.

Clicking any of those smileys means you acknowledge the System and participate in it. Same goes for voting in elections. Just don't do it, it's not in your interest. That video looks like the kind of garbage parents make their little kids watch in an endless playlist instead of reading books.

Is there a way to read comments for age restricted videos when you're not logged in? Here's an example. Nothing on that page loads for me except the video window and description.
I was just about to ask the same thing. Y2matego.com still works to get the actual video without logging in, but for some reason they've been hiding the comments now too. Seems like this was a pretty recent change.

Youtube apparently can't tell if I'm an adult. If those jeets think I'm going to upload my ID after the Discord breach, they can stand in front of oncoming trains.

Here is what I found in my inbox.
Hello,

We're writing to let you know about an update regarding how your ads experience on YouTube is managed.

What's changing?
Over the coming weeks, eligible Google accounts, with personalized ads previously enabled in My Ad Center, may soon see personalized ads on YouTube.

Why is this happening?
This update is part of our ongoing efforts to ensure consistency and simplify settings across Google products.

For certain older Google accounts, an outdated, redundant YouTube-specific setting disabled personalized ads on YouTube, even if ads personalization was enabled in My Ad Center. Moving forward, My Ad Center will serve as the centralized control for your ad experience across Google services, including YouTube.

What does this mean for you?
Over the coming weeks, depending on your settings in My Ad Center, you may start to see relevant ads on YouTube.

You're always in control: You can easily manage your ads personalization settings by visiting My Ad Center in your Google Account. Here, you can adjust your preferences across Google services, including YouTube, at any time.
YouTube Premium/Lite: This update does not change the ad-free or limited-ad benefits of any YouTube Premium or Premium Lite membership.
Thanks,
The Google Team
