Anything for him to not say that living with dozens of ferrets in a toxic dump might be the cause of all his health issues. Also we've seen Shaye's mouth, he's been infected for years at this point.

I don't even think the availability of information will be what does it in. Blockgame is fundamentally kinda shit, and it manages a playerbase in the single digits in a game owned by literally hundreds of millions of people, where the addressable player audience is functionally "Yes" - if they're an active gamer from the last ten years, its basically a given they own Minecraft. For at-scale communities on the gaming side of the internet, the idea of a community minecraft server is as common as a community discord server, and regularly see population counts that 5x or 10x blockgame, so that 0.1% of the community can build golden dicks for their favorite vtuber or whatever to see.

Hytale, by comparison, is a self admittedly deficient, early access project with a lot of promises and not a lot of delivery out the gate. And this is launching into a market both flooded with excellent indie games (Nobody who doesn't play indie even knows Hytale exists, lets be real) and covered with stories of failed early access games and scams. If it wasn't for the fact that its laser targeted onto minecraft streamers, I'd estimate the launch year player base to be 10k or less. With that, the optimistic number is still only reaching 100k.

If Jason pulls a perfect jackpot and the game launches with exactly the feature set he needs to make a 1-1 parity migration of blockgame, his realistic concurrent player count is legitimately around 2. I could see 20% of his current playerbase buying Hytale just to migrate over. Realistically, it'll be lacking in many features, they admit their modding tools are deficient and many things they want to be configurable are not doable yet, so the blockgame port will be subpar. The server will be a single player MMO. There will be nobody to convert because nobody will play the damned thing.
 
I am aware of a couple indie MMOs. As far as I know they didn't piss around by demoing themselves as Minecraft mods or anything, they just made the MMOs. Work spent on building something that isn't the main game is time wasted, it's all something that'll need rebuilt differently. At best you can argue that it's like the privately made games that developers make when starting out, but that's grasping at straws because those are not Minecraft mods either.

Also, this Blockgame name is fucking stupid. Every time I see it I think it's referring to Blockland first.

Exactly, part of me remembers when I was a younger lad and WoW was coming out. We were all hyped for ita nd trying to absorb any information we could about it.
Hytale MAY have had something like that with minecraft fans sick of MC and craving the next magical thing. But as far as I am concerned Hytale is vaporware until we actually see it.
The dev hell it has been in definitely doesn't boost confidence so any hype it would have had is probably dead after several years of failure and almost shutting down.

End of the day its a hail Mary for someone whose even less hyped or anticipated than Hytale at this point.
I'd say Hytale has a better chance of seeing light of day than Heartbound does at this point too.

Monsters and Memories comes to mind. Probably the most impressive small studio MMO I've seen. They're going old head boomer EQ with it, but for what it is? They've been grinding hard.

The thing about Hytale is its period of hype was around 2020-2021, which was a time when Minecraft was ahead in the Eternal Minecraft vs Roblox Cultural Dominance Battle. While the game was ultra successful at the time, there were still some people who thought it was getting stale, and Hytale's value proposition was that it was a fresh new take on the genre, focusing more on the fantasy and combat elements than survival.
Fast forward a few years, Mojang shit the bed and Roblox pulled ahead. So now since Roblox is the cultural hegemony, Minecraft has a smaller audience and thus Hytale's total addressable market has shrunk. Hytale's chance of success is slim and getting worse by the day.

I don't think it has as much as you think. Plenty have always wanted something akin to 3d terraria and hytale could get in that ballpark. I know retards will say 3d terraria IS Minecraft, but it's not, but also if terraria 2 did release in 3d, it might also blow out hytale.

Still, I hope he doesn't actually succeed grifting that .
 
Made this zero effort collection, of all the "recent" Heartbound update logs from Steam and putting them under each other like this, it amazed me, how he still manages to continue doing basically nothing except adding a few lines of dialogue text, into that one mess of a file and spread that over half a year of promised updates, probably with the intention, to keep this going, well into the next year.

Bit strange how times flow in Maldoverse Animus almost done but between "2 almost done" 8 years just flew away, on the other hand between 2 vacays suddenly 3-5 MANY YEARS just passed between august to next august.
