Remember when he told his constituents to shut up about the Somalis 10 years ago when they were complaining about them? He also went on to form the Somali caucus in congress immediately after that
They're just like the Germans or the Polish. When he votes to send them back, he should go with them.

The Tejanos were much fewer in number compared to the Anglo settlers that later came to the Texas. With that in mind it would seem that many of them are later arrivals. I'm very curious to see what becomes of that state if certain demographic trajectory charts are correct.

I would like to go back to the 90s though. That was our fun time where the rest of the world didn't matter to us and everybody was playing pogs talking about which spice girl was the absolute cutest (I was a baby spice guy myself)

Even in California years back my girlfriend was a beaner who lived about 15 minutes away from her job in the city called Whittier, California.
Whittier is a trip because it's about 70% Mexican, and they are the most middle class white people Republicans I have ever met in my life. When you hear about a Republican president getting gains in California it's because Whittier came out and vote for him.
If you can imagine Mexicans doing that version of a white guy that every nigger comedian does, that "Hey buddy, how are ya?" voice, that's what Mexican people are like in Whittier. At least it was 20 years ago when I was hanging around that town.
Which is insane to me because it's in Los Angeles county. However I think a big part of their Republican identity comes from the fact that Whittier is actually Richard Nixon's hometown, so that might have something to do with it.

I wouldn't be surprised at all, Trump seems to be very preoccupied with something instead of going hard on the somali situation right now.

ETA: Looks like pretty massive attack on X posts flooding in, has to be US ongoing. This reminds me of Iran when they were doing all sorts of diversions with sending stuff around here and there pretty publicly before and then when it hits it's out of nowhere.

It's worth noting that besides the detaining of Americans by Venezuelan authorities, Maduro also offered an "olive branch" to President Trump less then 24 hours ago.

Here is an excerpt from an article on this:
In the latest remarks, Maduro told his interviewer: "To the people of the United States I say what I have always said, Venezuela is a brother country... a friendly government.

"We must start to speak seriously, with the facts in hand. The U.S. government knows that, because we have said it a lot to their interlocutors, that if they want to speak seriously about the agreement to battle drug trafficking, we are ready to do that. If they want Venezuela's oil, Venezuela is ready to accept U.S. investments like those of Chevron, when, where and how they want to make them."

WASHINGTON, Jan 3 (Reuters) - The U.S. has struck Venezuela and captured its President Nicolas Maduro, who has been taken out of the country, President Donald Trump said on Saturday.

The U.S. has not made such a direct intervention in Latin America since the invasion of Panama in 1989 to depose military leader Manuel Noriega.
