I don't think this is a fall from grace but rather a way to keep a low profile, seeing how jews aren't popular in the left right now and queers aren't popular on the right , the smart way to act would be to not say or do shit that may get the attention of either side

Don't quite think so, people like her should be expected to be on Bluesky condemning the latest trump administration action or doing stuff like acting smug or doing plain loud activism showing up in marches and stuff, whereas going to cons is a more niche action within a mostly controlled environment , we could say she is avoiding normies and the more crazy geeks.
Edit: that or she is getting constantly tard wrangled by her husband as speculated

One small aside: What is with japs mostly releasing visual media compared to written media? It intrigues me how there rarely seems to have "books" compared to "manga". "Oh read the books for the source material", but there is "read the manga". I guess they just are used to drawing, as the moonrunes alone would just make for a boring material?

Regardless, what you speak has been something I have noticed lately. Goblin Slayer has "suffered" with the same thing. Sometimes I wonder if it is just shitlibs trolling and people just underestimating others' intelligence. I don't know...

There are a lot of books in Japan, and it's a very popular medium over there but you are only starting to see them now in the west because translating them is much more effort than translating Manga, and even then we're only getting Light Novels which are the JP equivalent to YA books. But for some popular series, like "Legend of the Galactic Heroes" and "Record of Lodoss War" the source material are actual novels.

Many of the cool shows of the 80s and 90s are from novels. Gundam has a fuckton, for example. Hopefully "localizers" will not ever touch Jap novels...

Wow, that is actually pretty cool. Legend of the Galatic Heroes being a book? I would put that on a reading list, maybe I too should check out the animation too. Seems to be quite good.

I heard about this Tanya the devil. It seems to be a hit or miss, and lots of lolitrannies like her for retarded reasons. I don't know, I just gave shitlibs the benefit of the doubt because underestimating your enemy is a mistake.
As for novels of that era, unless there's a huge interest of something from back in the day, I don't think so. Maybe there was a translation - be it official or unofficial.

They are touching the light novels because they can, but AI is about to make them redundant because it'll be far easier and cheaper for Kodansha to feel a novel into an LLM to translate it then get an editor to touch it up before publishing it digitally. They'd only get an actual translator for a large marquee series that would get an actual print run.

A'ight, just fyi all the birthdays were fan-submitted and Oda approved of every single one of them. Any links to communist ideals or leaders/founders are purely coincidental.

And just because some characters might be inspired by or have likely socialist/communist ideas doesn't mean that Oda himself is a staunch believer. The One Piece world is vast, why wouldn't there also be some groups who'd be pushing for that?
