The only problem with this theory is that Destiny hasn't done that himself despite them all turning on him. I suppose maybe out of self preservation? Things aren't truly dire for him yet but I would think that if he had something on all of them he would've at least not so subtly threatened it and I can't remember that happening at all. Agree that Tom probably has some shit on them but I highly doubt it's that.

if im destiny id see it as loyal sweepers pretending they hate me now because the jig is up. theyre not whistleblowers theyre cronies who swept for it and then jumped ship when it was clear there was literally nothing else they could do for him. i think they have such a group because deorio immediately knew to throw tom under the bus and show no confidence in the allegations being fake.

I think they all did that because they were grifting off of the Ethan Klein/Hasan Piker drama war that was the biggest deal in the world for them for like a year, and Destiny was on 'their side'. That said, your explanation can also make sense.

In regards to DeOrio, he didn't really throw Tom under the bus, he had a reasonable excuse at first for not covering it during his Wednesday show since it was still unfolding. When he did cover it on Friday, he was very generous to Tom (self-admittedly so) but he wasn't really sweeping for most of the stream either, he showed the posts, the videos, said it looked bad, called on Tom to respond, etc. Where the sweeping comes in is stopping the coverage where he did. He has not gone in depth on Tom's interactions with Ellie, arguably the best proven allegation and one of the more concerning. Saying he was going to wait for a response to cover more when he doesn't do that for many other people. Getting mad at his own audience for asking why he isn't covering it. They're all actions to Tom's benefit.

The only thing I'm really conspiratorial about is the claim made by him and others in the commentary community that they haven't heard from Tom. It's been nearly two weeks since the allegations, but none of them have expressed concern about him wondering if he's okay? I think they at the very least have talked to someone who has been in contact with him because if that were my friend I'd be worried that he killed himself.

I think it’s pretty clear she’d rather they never said anything. Her entire post was a sweep and expressing disapproval but with reluctant capitulations here and there muddying the tone. She doesn’t come out looking good and isn’t smart enough to know ignoring it entirely is the way to go if she isn’t going to disavow and move on. Could’ve been due to cognitive dissonance but I think it’s more she’s aware of what she has to say to make the post and not be the woman calling them all liars, which is a bad look.

I can barely get through this garbage but TT mentions in the first few minutes "the last time we called." So he was in communication with this weirdo more than once. Not shocking given what we know.
