after a week or 2 maybe, but its been years of meticulous searching, she didnt go missing last week mate shes been dead for years
since she was missing personal friends of hers moved over from Germany to keeping the search going, paired with local volunteers
they have been crossing off squares on a map together until literally everywhere was searched, theyve been at this for years
probably would never have found the bones if her friends from Germany stopped giving a shit

Police have confirmed a tragic update in the search for a young man who disappeared from the Australian outback in 2017.

Police have confirmed human remains found on a rural Queensland property belong to a missing Newcastle man not seen for nine years.
Jayden Penno-Tompsett, 22, was last seen in the early hours of December 31, 2017 near a roadhouse on the Flinders Highway at Charters Towers, southwest from Townsville.

He was travelling with a friend to Cairns to celebrate New Year’s Eve with others, who were in a separate car.

An extensive land search involving multiple agencies was launched in January 2018, but his remains were never found.

A breakthrough emerged in October last year after suspected human remains were found at a property in Breddan, near Charters Towers.

They were subject to forensic DNA analysis.

Queensland Police said the remains were confirmed as belonging to Mr Penno-Tompsett on January 23.

A report will be prepared for the coroner.

“A coronial investigation is ongoing,” police said in a statement, issued on Monday.

A Facebook page dedicated to finding Mr Penno-Tompsett also confirmed the grim news.

“On Friday night Police confirmed to Rachel (Mr Penno-Tompsett’s mother) that the remains have been forensically tested and identified to be Jayden,” a post on the page stated.

“Whilst this isn’t the outcome we were praying for, we are grateful that Jay has finally been found.

“We ask that you respect the privacy of Rachel and Jay’s family during this incredibly sad and difficult time. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.”

In 2021, a coroner found Mr Penno-Tompsett likely died from exposure to the elements in bushland after leaving his car.

Evidence was given throughout the inquest that the 22-year-old was consuming drugs throughout the trip and he had become irate after not being able to locate a “stash” of the drug ice.

“Jayden eventually parked the vehicle on the dirt road, grabbed his MDMA and wallet and smashed his phone on the ground, leaving it there and walking off. He had no water with him,” Coroner Nerida Wilson found.

Coroner Wilson ruled out any suggestion of foul play in Mr Penno-Tompsett’s death.

Reading an article today about a dog attack which happened in Melton. Apparently a household of 4 (all from ages ~18 to ~35) all got mauled by a dog which got amped up by their argument. They all went to hospital and the council has seized the dog. The journos ended the article with a comment that the council had refused to tell them what breed the dog is :stress:

Unfortunately they’re since replaced it with a comment that the dog was euthanised. (I only say unfortunately because that line was holding the council responsible, as they say, for pitbull guarding which is funny and uncommonly good journalism for the ABC).

A family member was once attacked by a pack of pigging dogs while out riding. Our faithful dog held them off so she pulled through unscathed but unfortunately they were never euthanised due to the lackadaisical attitude of our council and poor character of the owners.

Every ad has some sort of multiracial group in it, funny enough I have noticed we have more Maori's then Abos in ads (Not very diverse) EXCEPT one type of ad that always has whites in it. The homeless ads from the Red cross, because they know that the only people that are homeless are all white Australians. Tell me, has anyone ever seen an homeless Jeet? Asian? Never, because they're given free houses the second they arrive in the country.
