Women should keep their surnames when they get married, and children should receive their mother's surname by default. This is just practical. But if you express this opinion, you will be assailed by the voices of 1000 bleating scrotes saying, "Heh, you mean your father's last name?
" Like a lot of people, I do have the same surname as my dad, as does my brother. However, if my brother were to marry or reproduce and want his wife and children to bear our surname, nobody would say "umm AKSHUALLY it's your dad's last name!!!" It would be considered natural, dignified, and respectful to both him and our forebears. If I say the same thing, the inherited nature of the name works against me. It really embodies the misogyny of this mindset - a man's name is always his name, but a woman's is provisional and defined by her relationship to her father or husband.
