What youre describing sounds less like an a mafia and more like how power networks work in general. Political operators especially in male dominated spaces tend to form transactional alliances based on shared incentives, history, and trust. That dynamic shows up across ideologies and industries. If women sometimes find themselves excluded, thats more about old boys club culture than anything else. But there are forces behind all this identity politics and surface level conflicts.

A good book that really gave a glimpse into the future was the book Future Shock by Alvin Toffler, 1972.
