Nothing I can really think of (except that it's a Microsoft-owned developer doing it, which means it's going to be a clusterfuck at first as always, but those are always just really fucking funny and in no way physically harmful to anybody). Especially if they're not dropping OpenGL support; this just adds more hardware to the "yeah, you can get Minecraft running on it" column.

Because older systems (anything before 2012, I think?) don't support it (but you can just play an older version).
I think LavenderLovetap said in a tweet that they have a 2015 low end laptop, so it should run Vulkan just fine.

I don't keep up much with this shit anymore, and have little understanding of why people are sperging about it. I like Vulkan. Its helped extend the life of my current rig as a gaming rig.
I've been relegated to my old laptop due to an unfortunate incident with a tall coffee table and a precocious husky (there's something i heard recently that is certainly apt "huskies are the only dogs that can fail a basic obedience test and make you apologize to them) "paperweighting" my better rig (i9/rtx3070), and there's unity games that my aging i7-7700/gtx1070 chug with, that work better for me when switching from d3d11 to vulkan. I've gotten 10+ fps improvements, notably a consistent 15-20 fps increase with Valheim, which actually gives me 60fps+ most of the time. I wish more unity games used it, but a lot of games on older builds of unity still don't. Also, a few unity games actually seem to run worse with it. Just because the engine supports it doesn't mean its always optimized for it, I suppose.

Figures. Vulkan support is just practical, and moving away from OpenGL will only impact people with hardware that is about a decade old or older. This shouldn't be an issue for anyone that isn't stuck in a time warp where it is perpetually 2014. OpenGL has been a deprecated standard for some time now. Vulkan is its rightful successor. Any projects that have no interest in moving to Vulkan should just be archived as OpenGL becomes a standard that is just no longer supported.

Does adding Vulkan make it harder/difficult to mod Minecraft? I have heard Vulkan is a fucking bitch to figure out and use but other than hearing that and having a tiny amount of modding knowledge for Minecraft I have no way to tell.
Regardless this tranny should have states their position more clearly. As if that would ever happen.

I bothered to lookup compatibility for minimum for Vulkan 1.3:
AMD - GCN 4 (2016, so like Polaris GPUs and shit)
Intel - Skylake (2015 and their iGPUs, I asked Gemini to provide me a list you can see below but the tl;dr is you'll be fine)
NoVideo - Maxwell (2014)
So unless you're using a really old GPU or the iGPU from before Skylake (which I guess is possible I mean I use a Haswell CPU for my computer) then you'll be fine for Vulkan 1.3 and Minecrafts new renderer. What a bunch of fucking niggers.
iGPU:
Likely not that much, from what I've listened to by ID Software GDC talks the biggest pain with Vulkan is the boilerplate you have to do at the start for your renderer. After that it's apparently relatively ok.

. Sure but I disagree, OpenGL will likely be supported by modern GPUs for years to come. It is a much simpler to use API than Vulkan and realistically unless you're trying to push for performance you'd likely be fine with OpenGL. It's less deprecated than it is complete in the eyes of Khronos (though if you're Apple then sure it's deprecated, but Apple have never taken long term compatibility stuff seriously).

Thats not surprising, especially on low-end systems the reduced CPU overhead can make a noticeable (and quite important) difference.
It gets even wilder.
Tl;dr: Tranny is so broke hes about to go homeless and cannot possibly obtain a computer made in the last 15 years, which is obviously microsofts fault.

For an idea of how low end the Intel iGPUs mentioned there are, I did a bit of looking on eBay to get an idea of what kind of system you'd get.
Lenovo Yoga 510, Intel core i3 610U, 14 inch screen 4 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD for $133 AUD.
Asus R510L with Intel core i7 4500U, 15.6 inch screen, 4 GB RAM, 750 GB HD $148 AUD
HD Elitebook 820 G3, Intel core i5 6300U, 12.5 inch screen, 8 GB RAM, 240 GB SSD, $149 AUD
Apple MacBook Pro 2017, Intel core i7 7th gen, 15.6 inch screen, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD $84 AUD (also has a dedicated GPU in it as well)
Apple Mac mini 2018, Intel core i7, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD $136 AUD
To put it mildly, those aren't exactly... high end systems, especially considering they're in among a bunch of more expensive systems that are being sold as parts only.
