A shame because I really liked these cookies. Except for black peppercorn cookie
Yogurca has a special place in my heart because I started really getting into Cookie Run when Yoghurt Cream was first released, he was also the favourite at the time of one of my best friends.
It saddens me that they're not using the place anymore, it has so much potential and all of the designs are really good. I can tell they wanted to do more with it but whatever Sweet Baby Inc type company they hired told them to drop it. I would tell Devsis to stop trying to pander to the westerners and just focus on the Korean fanbase, but those sweet gender special bucks are plentiful.

PLEASE Devsis bring back Yogurca, with the Iran war and all the fuckery going on in the Middle East, it's the perfect time to do it.

Holy shit, people are actually killing themselves over the ending. How chronically online do you have to be for your mental stability to be dependent on a cookie? These people are not real

Blaming Devsisters for someone's death is just plain stupid.

They should ask if the person has had problems in their life.

More info on the apparent suicide. A 15 year old on Twitter 🄰 has stated that his cousin killed herself because of the ending.

At the moment, we have no way to verify whether this claim is true. It's also unknown whether the ending was actually what pushed her over the edge, or if it was just a coincidence with unfortunate timing. Regardless, holy fucking shit dude:cryblood:

This is absolutely fucking insane even amongst gacha drama.

Just because a mentally unstable minor committed suicide over a gacha game's story, it's still not the dev's fault.

It is also a blatant disrespect against fanbases of video games or gacha games where the devs are ACTIVELY abusing the players, at which nearly all of them do and receive even less reprisal over it.

More stuff about this, the 15 year old who claimed their cousin died has privated their account.

From this account who is friends with the 15 year old, apparently it was a 13 year old who killed themselves

If all of this is true then this is horrible, an incredible tragedy that someone so young could kill themselves. Tho at the same time, this fandom cultivates parasocial behaviour like no other. Even if the writing is bad and they killed your favourite character, hurting yourself over it? Please, reconsider stuff. It's not the devs fault that a kid decided to take their own life, ask yourself what could've happened in their daily life, a running game about pastries was definitely not the reason why they did it.

I, for one, call bs. I've seen people do a lot of stupid shit but this just seems like "oh man, I said something dumb, let me double down and NO I DONT NEED TO SHOW PROOF!"

I still don't get what "message" these people keep talking about, acting as if the Cookie game deliberately lasers subliminal messages into people's retinas and brains to make them do things against their will. Even edgelords are implying this and it makes me scratch my head.

In hindsight, White Lily crumbling because of Dark Enchantress being defeated makes sense, because they were two halves bound by the fact that they're the same Cookie (White Lily being a soul on borrowed time whilst Dark Enchantress kept the body). It doesn't matter if she was "suicidal" (lol), she was a ghost bound to Earthbread due to unfinished business and the only reason she became capable of roaming Earthbread again is because Elder Faerie (notice how nobody supposedly killed themselves over this character) sacrificed himself, aka died, so she could have a physical body and the power to do so. Her entire character is built on the atonement of her sins in a tragedy play kind of way.

Hell, as someone who was already rising a brow from the reveal trailer, White Lily dying, or the "implication" of her and Pure Vanilla being an item (since people, probably ElderLily and ShadowVanilla shippers, were also seething over that for some reason), is the least outrageous thing that happened in that update.

The Ultimate Cookie being an overhyped plot device that only benefitted Shadow Milk in the end, Sugar Swan appearing with little to no story buildup SOLELY so DevSis could release a new meta Legendary Cookie, the other Beasts being killed off-screen, TWO Dark Enchantress Legendary costumes instead of matching costumes for her and White Lily; the ending to the Cookie War/Beast-Yeast arc was... decent at best, chock full of plot holes at worst.

This is a gacha game, not a fairy tale or a children's book. There's no message/moral for you to follow at the end, it's a multi-chapter narrative and stuff happens in order for narratives to move forward. One of those things, more often than not, is death/self-sacrifice to defeat a supposedly unstoppable evil. If you can't see this then you should be on parental controls for the rest of your life, or in a baby-proofed room, because you can't be trusted with anything more complex than that.

If someone is mentally ill enough to the point that they will kill themselves over a video game, they should not be playing video games and should be sent to a mental health facility.
It's not the games fault that the metally ill person killed themself.

If there is any evidence of actual suicides happening
then I'll consider that a successful case of filtering

There's nothing more emotionally blackmailing than blaming somebody's suicide on somebody else. Just ask Karl Jobst how well that tactic went for him.
