Three Two other units at the Hawthorne are up for sale right now. Jon's is at bottom of chart, the smallest of the four three but the highest priced on a $ per square foot basis.

The pix of two of the others show reasonably decluttered neutral interiors with baths on view. The third's got some kind of peach/mauve thing going and has those Joanna Gaines-like "word" motifs Jon also enjoys. Links:
#105 - #402 - #203 - eta: #417

There are There's an open houses slated for this Saturday for eta: #417 (1pm to 3pm) and this Sunday for #105 (1pm - 2pm).
Canadian kiwis, in the States one could contact the listing agent for #105 or #402, ask about the unit they have listed and, before setting up an appointment to view, ask the agent to arrange to show the other two units while one is at the Hawthorne. The listing agents for the other two units would be happy about that but would not have to be present.

Would this be possible in BC, too?

Perhaps one's brother is moving over from Edmonton and visited the Hawthorne in the past when a friend lived there. Bro now thinks it would be a great place to buy. Then, oops, bro's company changes its relocation plans so the agent no longer wastes time on one.

eta: Simpler approach - One might also arrange to see #402 or #417 and like it but ask if there's anything in a 1 bdm/1 bath closer to ground level because one's started thinking about having to climb stairs if the elevator is out for service or power goes out, etc.
eta: Building plans have been posted on the thread here if you'd like to see how the pieces come together.

eta 2: Just noticed this review remains online.

eta 3: Got to wondering about #404 at 8880 202 St. On the market for 27 days. Not sold as promised to judge. No price cut. Yet. Link

402 at 28 days on market. That’s probably closer to the market price if it hasn’t sold yet.

Interesting comment. Makes me wonder if Yaniv somehow knew about this in advance and realized how lucrative it could be.

B.C. just increased damages for victims of intimate image abuse 👀
Victims can now seek up to $75,000, which is 14 times higher than the previous $5,000 limit.
This covers sharing intimate photos or videos without consent, including AI-generated and photoshopped images.
Now we know why Jessica Yaniv has been peddling the line about intimate images so hard everywhere lately including the FB page of a Tumbler Ridge Victim He thinks it will make him rich even though it is too late for him to save his foreclosed strata. No doubt the BCCRT will shortly be inundated with new and updated complaint filings based on the new award level and on this stock image & any modifications from him. He will continue to claim that it is really an intimate image of him.
The "intimate image" that Yaniv has been obsessed with:
2a.jpg 2b.png
https://news.gov.bc.ca/releases/2026AG0014-000282
New kangaroo court just dropped:
Victims of intimate-image abuse can now seek as much as $75,000 in compensation through the Civil Resolution Tribunal, with amendments to the Intimate Images Protection Act now in effect.
The act helps people, who have their intimate images shared without their consent, access justice without going through lengthy or costly court processes. Through the act, people can apply online to the Civil Resolution Tribunal to:
  • have their intimate images taken down from the internet
  • stop further distribution and threats to distribute
  • claim monetary compensation from the person, social media company or website that shared, or threaten to share, the image
Since the act came into force in January 2024, the tribunal has resolved 389 of the 486 submissions it has received, with the remainder in progress. People who need help navigating the justice process can reach out to the Intimate Images Protection Service, which offers emotional support, resources and help communicating the tribunal’s orders to platforms and perpetrators.
The Province passed legislation in fall 2025 to further strengthen the act. The amendments are now in effect and include:
  • substantially increasing the maximum compensation a victim is eligible to receive through a tribunal order to $75,000, which is 14 times higher than the previous $5,000 limit
  • removing the requirement for the tribunal to publish decisions about damages to better protect victims’ privacy
It's a shame, because I agree there's a real issue here they're trying to address... but this "Civil Resolution Tribunal" is just ripe for abuse from scum like Yaniv.

Mr. Bucket asks, didn't he get his ability to sue in HRT yanked until he pays his outstanding costs? Does anyone know about this?

I know why he's doing it. It's because of the Neufeld decision. The HRT is under the impression that denying someone's gender identity is itself . . . idk, a tort against them? Something like that.

If I had to guess, I would say Jon has a pretty high chance of winning his case against Billboard Chris and getting a massive award from the court. Chris sounds pretty confident but he acknowledges the HRT has given out some positively insane fines for stupid gender-related transgressions. Maybe Chris can move to the US to avoid payment.

I believe Yaniv would win at the HRT. My guess is that Chris hopes to use it as a test case at the next level or even at the appeals level, especially if Neufeld doesn't appeal. Chris is not a typical person and he probably has someone (maybe the JCCF) willing to pay the legal costs.

It appears the status of BC HRT enforcement actions has to be checked by phone, something I can't do from work. Info I'd want to have ready were I able to make the call:

Main number: 604-775-2000 or toll free within BC: 888-440-8844, M-F, 8:30am-4:30pm
If the main number isn't fruitful, calling the help line for how to file complaints to ask how to learn whether fines have been paid might be useful: 604-622-1100 or toll-free 855-685-6222, M-F, 9am-4pm.

File No. 17587, CanLII link

Short title: Yaniv v. Various Waxing Salons (No. 2), 2019 BCHRT 222 (CHRR Doc. 19-0222)

Long title: Various Waxing Salons (Blue Heaven Beauty Lounge and Sandeep Benipal, Sukhi Hehar and Sukhi Beauty Dream Salon, Marcia DaSilva, Hina Moin, Pam Dulay, Judy Tran and Merle Norman)

Date of decision: 2019-10-22

HRT ruling: "Ms. Yaniv was ordered to pay $2,000 in costs for improper conduct to each of the three represented complainants. All the complaints were dismissed." More specifically, "I order Ms. Yaniv to pay $2,000 to each of Ms. Benipal, Ms. DaSilva, and Mrs. Hehar."

So the HRT clerk would look for details of the case identified above and then check specifically to see if Yaniv/Simpson has paid:
  • Sandeep Benipal - $2,000
  • Sukhi Hehar - $2,000
  • Marcia DaSilva - $2,000

I think that's what Chris' end goal is here. Keep appealing until he gets a ruling in his favour and then that ruling can stop the nonsense from orgs like the HRT.

I wish him the best of luck but I think he's fucked.

The HRT will grant Jonny a big award, I mean they hit that school teacher for what...750K just for not using the troons pronoun?

This is Canada we're talking about and the troon is still quite ascendant here, this is not the US where the sexual predators and pedophiles are now on the backfoot. In Canada they are still firmly protected by the government and it's agents so I wouldn't expect anything from the courts aside from a quick confirmation of award.

Keep in mind the pedophile in chief PM Carney's "son" is a troon. So yah, Chris isn't getting any relief from our retarded justice system he should just flee somewhere to avoid shelling over any money to the pedophiles.

Does the "submissions for a legal proceedings can't be used as the basis for another identical legal proceeding" rule apply in Canada?

In the US, as far as I know, if you are being sued for calling someone a nigger, and you submit something to the court during that proceeding where you say the person suing you is a nigger, that submission itself, as part of a legal proceeding, can't be used as the basis for another civil lawsuit. The rule makes sense to me, if this kind of thing was allowed, you'd end up with endless recursive legal proceedings because each piece of information submitted as part of a lawsuit could be the basis for another subsequent lawsuit about the same thing.

I imagine not because it's just a retarded half formed idea that was made into a legal body because yass kween. Literally politics is the only career where you can cause untold damage and it's totally legal because you make the law as your job and there's no mechanism to ensure you do your job competently

While I agree that Canada is fucking still living in the dark ages when it comes to trannies and BC is likely the most fucked province about them, Chris has a few advantages over the school trustee who got bent over by the HRT.

!. Chris can follow the rules and keep calm. That trustee apparently broke a bunch of the HRT's rules and pissed them off.

2. The trustee was going against the LGTBTQABC123+ community i.e. trannies and their handmaidens. That letsthem pick the most sane handmaiden to sue him. Chris is going against Yaniv, who is the epitome of insane troon who can't act sane if his life depended upon it. You know Yaniv is going to be insane in the proceedings.

3. The proceedings allow Chris to bring up all of Yaniv's insane troon antics. That makes for bad publicity for the troons. An litigious violent misogynist sexpest ogre is not the representative the trannies want in the media.

4. What damages could Yaniv possibly have suffered? His own actions have made him unemployable and a pariah in every community who would consider him.

My last tally was the following:
7 claims on elston
1 claims on the western
4 claims on barbara dedouk
2 claims on kari simpson
4 on marc emery

18 claims

And i think there's a few more just can't remember, but quite the flurry of claims.

Regularly individuals do not serve these claims themselves, the hrt serves them. The claims are all likely relating to publication, but i do not believe publication applies to private individual's free speech. The claim on the western standard, maybe, but i firmly do not think the media should be obligated to lie to the public over the gender identity versus physical reality issue.

I actually expect more.

For such as Amy Hamm the process was intended to be the punishment. For Chris Elston he’s either going to win at HRT or he is creating an appeal pathway to make a point. He knows he’s possibly signed up for years of litigation against the right claimant. Whereas Fatboy hopes he’s making bank in time to fix his mortgage. Meanwhile, Fatboy is inching towards homelessness or family chaos and running any sort of case out of a cardboard box under a bridge whilst never sleeping because the zombies will totally strip your tyres of your soon to be repossessed car will be difficult.
