Ok, it's time to stop blaming every problem on Sam. Production was at it's worst during s4 and that was also Sam's most checked out season. The problem there wasn't Sam it was Jet's built up ego. Jet didn't complain about being mogged during s2 when they oiled him up and chased him around like a pig during swamp olympics. It was a phase he went through and it's HOPEFULLY past now. I like the maturing production has gone through this season, they really have been taking their lumps in stride, I don't think it's magically because Sam isn't there.
I wouldn't disagree, but also in the context Sam was also essentially mentoring Jet through this whole thing as a young man in his 20s. Jet could have been his own man but, it is what it is.

Holy shit, I go to bed and can't sleep, get back up to fuck around on the capital-I Internet, and Bashir is back lol.

I'll be honest, I can't say I'm exited about it. He lost fair and square and I'm fine if he returned as a freeloader, but as a contestant less than what... 8 hours after being legitimately eliminated? Eh, not so big a fan. James Drake has a point and I think this undermines actual eliminations. What's the point of losing the game if you just get reinstated hours later?

But the season so far has been fucking fantastic, so I GUESS I'll go accept this truly NEPTUNIAN TWIST and see where it goes. Regardless, I updated the Day 7 Recap since this happened prior to midnight.

Landon got a fine for something I didn't see it I think he went into the shop and got something and forgot to pay for it. "Mommy" paid it for him. (Freud weeps) I couldn't hear anything over TTS. It was like $4

The voting eliminations have to go. Jet's caught in a logic loop. Oh no, the fish don't do anything because the rules don't matter, they need to have agency! Let's let them pick who to eliminate! Oh, no, they're going to eliminate the audience's favorite, so we need to give them immunity! Oh no, they couldn't vote out the best fish, so they voted out the antagonist! Let's just bring him back since the person we thought was going to be eliminated walked out!

So now Emma won the tree challenge, won the social challenge, won the plant matter challenge, voted out Bashir, and earned nothing. She's actually in a worse position than she would be if she hadn't participated in the challenge at all. James, who won the social challenge and took second place in the plant matter challenge is also in a worse place than he would have been had he not participated. They both now have targets on their back: Emma for shooting Bashir, and James's double crossing of Bashir is probably going to be revealed eventually if it hasn't already.

So now we're back to the beginning of the circle again where the fish have no motivation to participate.

I'm glad Bashir is back. It would have been dumb to keep him if Vicky had stayed, but she has talked about leaving for days now and finally did it. The house 4 contestants down in a week just wasn't going to be good, I don't want it to become freeloader tank. It does undermine Emma's decision earlier and I understand Drake's concerns but I think it will be a much better show with Bashir minus Vicky vs Vicky minus Bashir.

It is funny how the theme of this season has been much more about the actual game of the gameshow then immediately undermining that, but I don't really care. At the end of the day, the game elements of the show end up being some of the least interesting throughout all the seasons. I support the wiggers making an executive decision to have another interesting character in the mix rather than being down two characters.

Yeah, I agree.

It comes down to reality game basics: why participate in the challenges if the result doesn't matter?

Emma made a move by sneaking the stump into her bag. It completely dunked on James Drake's alliance and despite it, she won. She choose to eliminate Bashir, and what did she actually get from that?

Nothing. Literally nothing. By winning the challenge and eliminating the person she felt was the biggest threat, she now put herself at a disadvantage. Now her target returned as a full contestant due to something completely out of her control, and is obviously going to hassle her.

Now there's no reason to actually meaningfully participate in any elimination. If I was in the house, why would I give a shit about any elimination going forward? Whoever I pick to eliminate will just return if it is "good for content" and if I'm eliminated, same answer. Just don't be nontent like JD and I have a ticket back on the show.

Been loving this season so far and I'm invested, but I do think this was a mistake.

And she injured her knee twice trying to win.

I wouldn't be surprised if she dialed it back in future challenges.

Jet trying so hard to be a good sport about contestants being absolute retards for the first time in 5 seasons make me think he couldnt let himself/the show look bad because of Sam
