A heated row has broken out over a move by Britain's largest bakery chain to launch a vegan sausage roll.

The pastry, which is filled with a meat substitute and encased in 96 pastry layers, is available in 950 Greggs stores across the country.

It was promised after 20,000 people signed a petition calling for the snack to be launched to accommodate plant-based diet eaters.

But the vegan sausage roll's launch has been greeted by a mixed reaction: Some consumers welcomed it, while others voiced their objections.

Cook and food poverty campaigner Jack Monroe declared she was "frantically googling to see what time my nearest opens tomorrow morning because I will be outside".

While TV writer Brydie Lee-Kennedy called herself "very pro the Greggs vegan sausage roll because anything that wrenches veganism back from the 'clean eating' wellness folk is a good thing".

One Twitter user wrote that finding vegan sausage rolls missing from a store in Corby had "ruined my morning".

Another said: "My son is allergic to dairy products which means I can't really go to Greggs when he's with me. Now I can. Thank you vegans."

TV presenter Piers Morgan led the charge of those outraged by the new roll.

"Nobody was waiting for a vegan bloody sausage, you PC-ravaged clowns," he wrote on Twitter.

Mr Morgan later complained at receiving "howling abuse from vegans", adding: "I get it, you're all hangry. I would be too if I only ate plants and gruel."

Another Twitter user said: "I really struggle to believe that 20,000 vegans are that desperate to eat in a Greggs."

"You don't paint a mustach (sic) on the Mona Lisa and you don't mess with the perfect sausage roll," one quipped.

Journalist Nooruddean Choudry suggested Greggs introduce a halal steak bake to "crank the fume levels right up to 11".

The bakery chain told concerned customers that "change is good" and that there would "always be a classic sausage roll".

It comes on the same day McDonald's launched its first vegetarian "Happy Meal", designed for children.

The new dish comes with a "veggie wrap", instead of the usual chicken or beef option.

It should be noted that Piers Morgan and Greggs share the same PR firm, so I'm thinking this is some serious faux outrage and South Park KKK gambiting here.

Yes, it was those fucking "British men" again.
And it's a "Bath Mayor" from the Liberal Democrats who had to resign for claiming Israel torched the ambulances.

The mayor of Bath has resigned after sharing false social media posts describing the burning of a Jewish charity's ambulances as an "Israeli false flag operation".
Dr Bharat Pankhania has also resigned from the Liberal Democrat group on Bath and North East Somerset (Banes) council, though he had already been suspended.
A spokesperson from the Banes Liberal Democrat council group confirmed on Monday evening that Pankhania's resignation had been accepted.
The council confirmed it is investigating complaints about Pankhania, saying: "All councillors are expected to follow a code of conduct."

Pankhania remains a Banes councillor, although now sits as an independent.
They added he had "again apologised for his interactions on X, and reiterated that he has spent his life working with all communities, whilst acknowledging the hurt he had caused".
The four ambulances were run by community organisation Hatzola - the Hebrew word for save or rescue - and were torched in Golders Green in north London on 23 March.

The incident is now being investigated by counter-terror police, with two men currently on bail after being arrested in connection with the offences.
Pankhania shared X posts describing the arson attacks as an Israeli false flag operation, and two further posts claiming the incident was an insurance fraud.
He later issued an apology, saying the posts "have never aligned" with his values and beliefs.
"I am incredibly apologetic that I have not lived up to the standards I set myself," he said.
"I have of course deleted them and I wish to apologise unreservedly," he added.
The Banes Liberal Democrat group said on Monday night that by resigning, Pankhania was taking "clear personal responsibility for his actions".
It added: "As a group and as a party, we reject discrimination wherever it occurs and reiterate our stance against antisemitism."

My name is Micheal Caine. Reform are a bunch of paki loving nonces. Not a lot of people know that.

Know the skilled employee visas the government likes to brag are used to attract the best and brightest? Turns out they are also used by cults to get their members into the country.

The Home Office is investigating a company linked to a religious sect based in Cheshire over its use of immigration visas.
The company under investigation is linked to the Ahmadi Religion of Peace and Light (AROPL), a sect that blends tenets of Islam with conspiracy theories about the Illuminati and aliens controlling US presidents. Followers believe the sect’s leader, Abdullah Hashem, can cure the sick and make the moon disappear. About 100 of his followers live in a former orphanage in Crewe, in the north-west of England.

The community moved to the UK in 2021, after transferring their headquarters from Sweden, where immigration authorities investigated several companies linked to the sect and issued deportation orders to dozens of its members.

Now, immigration officials in the UK are looking into a company linked to the sect over its use of skilled worker visas to bring people into the country.
The investigation, which was confirmed by the Home Office, is understood to centre on the use of visas by AROPL Studios, a company set up in 2021 to produce social media and YouTube videos about the sect’s teachings.
Data released to the Guardian by the Home Office showed that AROPL Studios had 12 skilled worker visas issued between 2022 and 2025.
Skilled worker visas were introduced in 2020 and are designed to allow companies to hire foreign workers with specialist skills for a specific role. In September 2025 the Home Office announced it was cracking down on sponsors who were found to be abusing the immigration system.
AROPL denied using illegal immigration practices. Through lawyers, it said the immigration status of all its members and workers was lawful. It added that it was unaware of any investigation.
Hashem, who habitually wears a black beanie hat, has built a following through slick online videos, with AROPL’s YouTube channel notching up more than 31m views. Some of these set out his teachings, while others detail the group’s belief that Hashem has performed miracles including bringing a woman back from near death, curing a follower’s arthritis and making angels fly across the sky.
Hashem has previously spoken about the international nature of the group based in the UK. In one video published at the end of last year, he said: “We have people here from Malaysia. We’ve got people here from Azerbaijan. We’ve got people here from Algeria, from Morocco, from Tunisia, from Egypt … We’ve got people from every continent on the globe almost, right? And we got [people] from about a hundred different countries and they’re all living together peacefully, harmoniously, getting married to one another.”
The Home Office’s investigation is not the first that the group has faced. The Guardian reviewed judgments from multiple immigration court decisions in Sweden, where immigration authorities found that three AROPL-linked companies were “rogue employers”, hiring AROPL followers to allow them to have Swedish residency.
The Swedish migration court issued 69 deportation orders for AROPL members. AROPL told the Guardian that the group had already left the country and moved to the UK when the orders were handed down.
In public statements, Hashem decried the migration court’s rulings as racist and religious persecution.
AROPL’s lawyers said any suggestion that visas were used improperly to bring followers to the UK was false, and that it had the paperwork to prove it.
It said it was a peaceful, open and transparent movement derived from Shia Islam and that it had been recognised as a religion by multiple international bodies. It said that members of the group had faced persecution in certain countries because of the sect’s interpretation of Islam, in which it allows the consumption of alcohol and for women to eschew the hijab.

Labour councils now demanding people not say migrants are coming from countries that have no respect for women.
A Labour council has said it is wrong to claim that migrants come from “cultures that don’t respect women”.
In an online “myth-buster” addressing asylum and immigration, Liverpool city council said that blaming foreign cultures for violence against women and girls “reinforces harmful stereotypes”.
The myth-buster said there was “no causal link between asylum seeker populations and increased levels of violence against women and girls”.
The web page was published amid widespread concerns surrounding sex crimes committed by foreign nationals.
Last year, analysis by the Centre for Migration Control found that foreign nationals were three times as likely to be arrested for sexual offences as British citizens.

The myth-busting page followed a commitment to anti-racism made by the council, which said last year that it would “challenge racial misinformation” and aimed to ensure that “ethnic and racial diversity are celebrated as a source of strength”.
The section on violence against women and girls said that it “occurs in every society, at every income level and across all cultural and religious groups”.
It added: “Suggesting that certain backgrounds make people more likely to commit violence is not supported by evidence and reinforces harmful stereotypes.
“The strongest predictor of violence against women and girls is not nationality or culture but gender, with men making up the majority of perpetrators worldwide, regardless of where they come from.”
Further guidance informs residents concerned about asylum seekers that “judging thousands of people based on the actions of one person is inaccurate and harmful [and] divides communities”.

Liverpool council’s ‘myth busting’

Asylum-seeking men [come] from cultures that don’t respect women
Violence against women and girls (VAWG) occurs in every society, at every income level and across all cultural and religious groups. Suggesting that certain backgrounds make people more likely to commit violence is not supported by evidence and reinforces harmful stereotypes. The strongest predictor of VAWG is not nationality or culture, but gender, with men making up the majority of perpetrators worldwide, regardless of where they come from.

Asylum seekers are not vetted and pose a risk to women and girls
People seeking asylum undergo security and identity checks by the Home Office, including fingerprinting and checks against national and international databases to assess for criminality, terrorism, and war crimes. They are subject to UK law at all times.
If an individual commits an offence, they can be arrested and prosecuted like anyone else. A criminal conviction can affect their immigration status and may lead to removal from the UK.
I see posts online about asylum seekers harassing women, so it must be true
Many social media posts are unverified and misleading. Incidents are often shared without evidence, context or police confirmation.
While some claims are later corrected, the harm to community trust is often already done. Before believing and sharing any social media post, look for official information from Merseyside Police. Relying on unconfirmed “hearsay” online turns rumours into unnecessary fear.
Asylum seekers are responsible for a rise in violence against women and girls
Research and available data show no causal link between asylum seeker populations and increased levels of VAWG. VAWG is a systemic issue perpetrated by men and occurs across all communities and backgrounds. Our focus is on preventing all violence, holding all perpetrators to account and supporting all victims, regardless of background.
The information added that “most people on small boats are men because the routes are extremely dangerous and families usually send the person most likely to survive first”.
National data on crimes committed by foreign nationals has not been made available, but analysis of responses to freedom of information requests by The Telegraph has revealed a number of trends.
Last year. analysis showed that there were almost 165 arrests for sexual offences per 100,000 of the migrant population compared to 48 per 100,000 among Britons.
Further data that year revealed that the number of sexual offence convictions of foreign nationals had increased by 62 per cent in the previous four years.
Sexual crimes connected to foreign nationals have been under greater scrutiny since the case of Hadush Kebatu. The Ethiopian asylum seeker sexually assaulted a 14-year-old girl and a woman in Epping eight days after arriving in the UK last year. He was mistakenly released from prison, but was recaptured and deported.

The myth-busting web page also addressed more general concerns about and perceptions of asylum seekers in the area.
Tackling the belief that they are housed with greater urgency than British homeless people, the council said that “one crisis should not be used to dismiss the other”.
In response to concerns that asylum seekers were “pretending to be refugees to get free stuff”, the council said: “Most people seeking asylum are fleeing war, torture or persecution. They want safety, dignity and a chance to rebuild their lives.
“If you come across false information online or in conversation, take a moment to share the truth and help others see beyond the headlines.”
The launch of the online tool followed council concerns about Right-wing activity in Liverpool, including a march led by Ukip last year that called for mass deportations.
An anti-racism strategy for the next 10 years has committed the city to “tackling disinformation and misinformation at every level” and building a “race-literate city where inclusive narratives strengthen trust and belonging”.
The council pledged to ensure “divisive stories no longer fuel hostility” by rolling out “fact-check hubs and social media myth-busting campaigns”.

In lighter news M&S is getting robbed left, right and centre at the moment to the degree that they've spoken out about it specifically to the mayor of London
Marks & Spencer has called on the government and London’s mayor to crack down on retail crime, saying it has become “more brazen, more organised and more aggressive”, after reporting an increase in shoplifting and violence at its stores.
The M&S chief executive, Stuart Machin, has written to the home secretary, Shabana Mahmood, and its retail director, Thinus Keeve, has written to the London mayor, Sadiq Khan, saying greater resources are needed for police to tackle the crime effectively and target repeat offenders and crime hotspots.

“In the past week alone we have had gangs forcing open locked cabinets and stripping shelves, two men brazenly emptying the shelves of steak and walking out, a large group of young people ransacking a store before assaulting a security guard, a colleague headbutted trying to defuse a situation and another hospitalised after having ammonia thrown in their face,” Keeve wrote on the M&S website.

“It is worse in London, but it is happening across the country, and it is becoming routine, because it seems there are no consequences.”
Police responded to reports of antisocial behaviour involving a group of “several hundred young people” this week in Clapham, south London, as part of “link-ups” using social media apps including TikTok and Snapchat.
Keeve said there were about 5.5m incidents of shoplifting last year across the UK, excluding “the vast number that go unreported”. “Every day, more than 1,600 retail workers face violence or abuse. This is not isolated. It is systemic and it is getting worse, not better.”
He added: “Without a government seriously cracking down on crime and a mayor that prioritises effective policing we are powerless. We need a stronger, faster and more consistent police response, using tools that already exist to target repeat offenders and crime hotspots. And we need far greater transparency on crime so the true scale and impact is understood and can be used to target resources.
“We need to recognise this for what it is. A systemic issue. A growing issue. And one that demands a coordinated response across government, policing and industry.”
About 100 officers were called to Clapham High Street on Tuesday where young people were reported to be attempting to access shops and a restaurant. Fires were also lit on Clapham Common and fireworks set off.
Six teenage girls were arrested after two separate incidents of antisocial behaviour “fuelled by online trends”, according to the Metropolitan police. Five people were assaulted, including four police officers. The Met said it expected more arrests would be made in the coming days.
Khan has condemned the scenes in Clapham as “utterly unacceptable”. He said “the culprits will face the full force of the law” and that police were working with social media companies to try to clamp down on “viral online content which promotes violence and theft”.
Adam Hawksbee, the head of external affairs at M&S, told BBC Radio 4’s Today programme: “Retail crime has always been a challenge, but it does feel in the past weeks and months that the problem is getting worse.”
Asked about the impact of shoplifting on staff, Hawksbee said it “clearly has an impact”, and that they “worried about coming into work, they might be nervous about the journey home, and that’s not the position that we want our colleagues to be in”.
Shoplifting offences increased in England and Wales in the year to September, but remained slightly below record levels seen in the 12 months to March 2025, the latest Office for National Statistics figures available show.
There were 519,381 shoplifting offences in the year to September 2025, up 5% from 492,660 the previous year. A total of 530,439 offences were recorded in the year to March 2025.
Given how much Sadiq talks about London's lack of crime that is awkward. Not as awkward as his armed security, funded by the tax payer, accidentally leaving a bag of guns outside his house recently though.
Armed police guarding Sir Sadiq Khan, the mayor of London, have reportedly left a bag of guns outside his home.
An MP5 semi-automatic Heckler & Koch carbine, Glock pistol, Taser and ammunition were found on the kerb in south London on Tuesday evening.
Five officers have since been removed from front-line duties.
Scaffolder Jordan Griffiths told The Sun that his girlfriend found the bag.
Mr Griffiths said: “I was told they had been left there by one of Sadiq Khan’s security officers, which made sense as he lives here.”
The Metropolitan Police’s directorate of professional standards is reviewing what happened.

The force said: “At around 9.40pm, a member of the public called police after finding a bag containing Met-issued firearms and a Taser on a street in south London.
“Within seven minutes of the call to police, officers arrived at the scene and safely recovered the items.
“We are urgently reviewing the circumstances of this incident and recognise the concern it may cause.
“At this stage it is believed the bag was misplaced by on-duty officers a short time before the member of the public located it.
“We recognise the concern this may cause and an internal review was immediately launched into the circumstances.”
A spokesman for Sir Sadiq said: “This is a very serious incident. The Met must now take all steps to ensure an incident like this never occurs again.”

he looks like a druggy.

They will do him for disturbing the peace probably. And arrested him to get him away from the mob at the time. Which is a common police tactic. They don't want someone beaten or stabbed to death so they arrest them to avoid their precious browns being exposed.

accidentally leaving a bag of guns outside his house recently though
Not even anything interesting. Wow a semi auto mp5 and a glock. Yea and would you like a bottle of water with your bread and butter? If I found that I wouldn't even bother stealing it. Get something fucking interesting instead of the most basic ass boring dogshit lego guns.
A British patriot claims that Muhammad was a pedophiIe and is attacked by a Muslim mob and arrested by the police.
I think maybe the word 'claims' look idk all I'm saying is that I don't claim to know what 2+2 is. To me he's not making any claims, he's just repeating factual information. I will say this is the least white pro palestine anything I have ever seen though holy fuck. I love in the second half that a bunch of the retards just run over and start shouting like do you actually know what's going on or are you just pissed off for the sake of it?

It just goes to show far behind the media is when it comes to the zeitgeist, newspapers especially but even twatter commentators fall for being TOO OLD now.
Whence the Green campaign to lower the voting age, which Labour previously supported, until they realised how much it would fuck them at the election.
Would it even do the memes any good either though? Nevermind actually showing up on polling day, under 25s are doing well even to hit double digit % of being on the electoral register sometimes.

How are da yoof so fucking useless now? They need help from online to fill in a form, shop for the basics, to cook, clean, dress themselves. No wonder they all say they’ll vote Green, it’s what all the other kids say cos the greens aren’t in power and are a ‘rebel’ vote. Ask the kids how voting works, though, or even the difference between local and national elections, and they have no clue (unless they ask their online pals). Total dumbasses that act like five year olds.

It feels like it's been fucking freezing since the turn of the new year, I genuinely can't remember April being this fucking dire when we've got Summer literally just around the corner.

This global warming shit isn't real, I'm gonna go set off as many aerosols as possible and start burning plastic.

How are da yoof so fucking useless now?
They've grown up in a strange society that mixes overbearing anxious parenting from the state while also giving them countless systems to do shit for them. The state won't let you drop out of school and will force you to get a qualification and will pay people to apply for jobs for you and even if you don't get that job then that's ok the tax payer will pick up the slack for you. Oh yea but if you want to do anything on your own then you're fucked and we will anally rape you to death if you even try to do fucking anything without 5 qualifications and £100,000 in student loan debt. It's this strange combination of the state wanting to do everything for you but also only wanting you to do a restricted number of things. You don't need to mature or become independant from your parents because the government will cover that for you. Trying is discouraged through endless paperwork and fees. Following the path of least resistance that the government has specifically designed is much easier.

And then there's the social side of shit. Parents are forced to work harder and longer so the quality of parenting drops, obviously the state will help pick up the slack, but you lose the small things. All the youth centres and parks have shut down so you can't be a dumb kid and go break your leg skateboarding and learn about risk and consequence and even if they were open still osha would ensure everything is covered in bouncy foam because the government definitenly does not want any children being hurt ever. And just the lack of practical things that you can do with family when you're young. You can't take a kid to work when you work as an office worker and you spend 8 hours a day typing numbers in a computer and trying not to kill yourself. You can't help a kid just see the real world and do things. Houses are all compact shit so no one has a garden and a grandad to build a birdbox with or anything like that. You're just stuck inside on a computer or the tv that are just designed to be as engagement hungry as possible. Even shit like lego, lego is one of the best kid's toys because it's fine motor skills from a young age, can't have that anymore because reddit user u/twilightsparkleglomper1979 needs to spend the money that should be spent on alcohol and dating on kid's toys instead and fucked the market. Even fucking pokemon cards. It sounds incredibly fucking faggy to say but actually playing pokemon tcg is the closest you would ever get a kid to playing chess or something intellectual. That sort of early childhood development is incredibly important but no one has the time or money to do that anymore. Instead they get some thoughtless bullshit like fortnite and a load of sex offenders on discord.

Or maybe I'm just completely fucking retarded I know nothing about children or what it's like to be a child anymore. I just see shit and I'm probably wrong about the shit I think about it but I still think about it.

Either way happy Easter. Even if it is fucking disturbingly early to the point that I just didn't even know, most american shit I will ever say but not having something special for dinner on a day like Easter feels wrong. I am unable to enjoy Easter Sunday, I will instead be celebrating yeaster funday as I have scheduled in both a beer and a sex on the timetable on the fridge, I will not say which goes to which part. I started this week by throwing up and I think it would be my own moving the boulder from the cave moment if I ended in a similar way or some shit.

I do remember from when I was very young, but I also remember blazing summers that the climate people refuse to even acknowledge any more.

Half the weather stations the MET uses for its climate propaganda don't exist. The most egregious is Lephinmore, in Scotland, which was closed down 60 years ago but still somehow produces daily temperatures. They use "correlated averages from neighbouring stations" to fill it in. At least one of those stations also doesn't exist.

I wish it was real.

To give a small benefit of doubt. The police kind of had to remove him so he didn't get lynched. It's not like two officers can calm down a paki murder mob. The cameraman sounds soy af though, probably a White prog, by the sound of his voice. Not sure why he brought up Joseph, when he didn't even save sex with Mary and, Joseph himself isn't even the central figure of the religion. Jesus and Mary have magnitudes of Weight above him, unlike islam where muhammad is number 2.

Are Restore/Reform gaining many young people though? Restore are definitely regaining middle aged + older people who have been alienated by politics, or who have never voted before, but young people? Lowe had posted that 'a lot of young women have joined' and he has zoomers like Charlie whatshisface vocally supporting the party, but all the meetings so far have trended older. I do believe that younger men are quietly supporting Restore/Reform online, and universities have Reform Societies, which is a good start.

And yes Green gains are Labour losses; they have gained an incredible fickle set of voters in White leftists who will abandon them for whatever party supports the cause du jour eventually, and Islamists who hate fags and yuppies.
It's hard to get young support because of two things, demographics and environment. The natives are only like 60-65% of youth. You've already lost almost half the vote because of nativism will never appeal to foreigners. And being right-wing is extremely toxic in youth spaces. If you're far-right you will have no friends there, and be a cast as a social pariah. Seriously, I rarely see right-wings stickers/posters around uni areas(commie/palestine and fags stickers are on every lampost, wall and surface where you stick things though). The only time you do, is if a right-wing group was in the area recently, and then you'll see some stickers for few weeks before their defaced or covered over.
