So apparently the Salami requested a suspended sentence which basically means "Please don't put me in jail it was my first time doing a crime" and he also submitted a so called "letter of reflection2 which seems to be something common in Korean law. you basically present yourself as someone who has reflected on your actions and promise you won't do it again (this one guy who punched Salami in the face allegedly issued several of those during his trial). But it also seems that Legal Mindset and otzhers presented the judge with their own material to make these request meaningless. Whelp, we will see, how it goes next week. MArk your calenders for Wednesday next week

From what I read About Asian prisons these kinds of things don't happen often as it would lead to hefty punishements (on the other side he will be put into a Korean Prison not a foreigner's Prison so who knows). But thanks to his Registration as a sex offender he also won't be ordered to pick cabbages. If any he would be more likely to work in a factory or whatever else where he can't have contact with "the public". We will see in a week but I hope he gets the maximum Prison sentence possible which I think is 3 years. And since he is a dumb nigger he might get even more when he chimps out in prison

I don't think the max is 3 years, it's just what the prosecutor requested. Various Youtubers have added things up and generally tried to get the highest, most headline-grabbing numbers possible, but I don't think it will be much more than that.

That said, apparently it's important for defendants to write letters of reflection to obtain lower sentences. Johnny wrote two but it should be more, and I think they were probably shitty.

On top of that Johnny showed an absolute lack of contrition, and tried to get a victim charged with his crimes, and threatened the judge's family, and insulted Korea and its people, and committed more offenses after he'd already racked up charges. Meanwhile the victims and others have written in requesting he gets the maximum penalty, even explicitly describing Johnny's online actions just before he showed up late and drunk to court. Johnny was ordered to relinquish his cell phones, and the purpose of doing so would likely be to prevent him from committing more livestreaming-related offenses, but he has continued to record videos since then in which he called Korea a stupid 3rd world country.

So I think the judge would be well within his rights to give a harsher sentence than Johnny's offenses would normally merit for a normal defendant.

Isn't his sentencing in a few hours? I'm not sure the exact time of his hearing, just that it's April 15 in the morning, Korean time.

LM pointed out in the latest video I saw that if the judge goes lenient on Johnny, the prosecutors have the ability to appeal for 7 days. This would probably happen if he got less than half of what they recommended. He also said that Johnny could face further charges - namely, child sexual harassment.

It's currently 6:40 am of April 15th in Seoul, and according to legalmindset the trial is set for the morning. so probably a couple hours left to wait

If anyone is trying to figure out exactly when 6:40 Seoul time is it's basically just sixty minutes after 5:40 Seoul time.

I'm not sure about the procedure. Might they sentence him and haul him off directly to prison?

ETA: according to a source I'm not familiar enough to vouch for cite he only got six months. I'd wait for Legal Dicksucker to chime in with any further details. If so, the prosecutor could appeal that.

How long they got this nigger picking cotton for? I doubt they let him appeal it down but then again it could be a scare tactic if they can turn around and banish him or something and enforce the sentence if he returns.

Praying for at least 6 months in the mines.
