I don't hate Bernstein, but almost every single other major conductor from that time I like better. Especially when it comes to Columbia Records conductors, George Szell and Bruno Walter have far more interesting recordings than Bernstein had, at least to me.

I usually try to separate the art from the artist, but I always get whiplash whenever I hear a song and being surprised it was made by a woman only to find out they're actually a troon. It's especially problematic in the EDM scene since female producers and DJs are pretty rare so now I'm forced to assume any song I hear is made by a man.
Anyways I wanted to rant a bit about this remix I heard from an artist called Syzy
I really liked the way it sounded, so I decided to check out their newest EP only for it to sound nothing like what I was expecting
It's not even that the production is necessarily bad, it's just too heavy on the bass and not easy to listen to compared to how the first song sounded. I needle dropped a few places to see if there was anything good but any melodic parts were overshadowed by screeching earrape.

Exactly my experience with Zhea Erose. In hindsight the Ember Lilith - tier name should have been obvious. But the vocals in some songs didn't give him away and I was pretty impressed.
He seemed to be trying to explore microtonality in such a way that can contribute to the Western Classical Canon which is said by so many people to have done everything, or everything except for microtonality, the final (large) frontier. But this type of autistic deconstruction of music seems to me less likely for a woman to do. I know there are women who make experimental music, and are very knowledgeable on music theory, but I'd guess they're significantly less than men, and not at the extremes.
