Their current leaders were killed, communications are disrupted, and they can't even hold meetings for fear of being attacked. They need a leader both the civilians and IRGC will accept, but their stopgap process isn't producing anyone of that caliber. None of the current mid-ranking guys have widespread name recognition and the IRGC won't listen to some unknown newfag who claims to be in charge. So what's the solution? Bring back an old timer who everyone has at least heard of. It doesn't matter if he can actually do anything, they just need a figurehead to avoid infighting.

Fun fact: while painted mostly green, the tip is painted yellow, there's a yellow stripe on it, and sometimes the fins are also painted yellow. Golden MOAB kinda exists

With the Iranian economy in such shambles, wouldn't just giving our preferred parties some gold coins instantly turn them into major players? A pound of gold would be 160 yearly salaries before the war and even more now, suddenly that small group of Shah loyalists are far more attractive employers than the Basij.

We find 14 cells like this and for a million dollars you're creating some serious instability for the regime. Im no CIA agent, but this seems like a pretty solid plan
