Okay, here's a troubling update. Yesterday I thought about posting about Yaniv on the Phillip Defranco sub, because while I may think poorly of that man, he'd probably love a story like this. But first, I do a search to see if Yaniv's been brought up there before. Oh, he has? No point reposting then, I'll just upvote them tomorrow when I wake up (I was incognito at the time).

Today, everything's gone. No search results for Yaniv, Jessica Yaniv, Jonathan Yaniv, nothing. Tried it incognito and out, it's just all gone.

UPDATE: Reddit has in the past hour removed the 11/18 and the 12/7 post

This thread is on the first page of Google on results for "Jonathan Yaniv" for me. Duckduckgo has it at about 5th

Reddit has put back both the posts. Weird

So I'm a gay guy who has been pissed off at this whole transgender movement for a while, but have only recently gone down the rabbit hole of Jonathan's case. I'm glad that places like this exist to document this shit. I can't believe the stupidity of Canadians to build a system that would allow such bullshit. I used to work in US higher education and these ideologies are firmly entwined in the administration of most US colleges, but thankfully because of our Constitution, non of it is legally enforceable and I predict would be deemed unconstitutional by most any court in the US.

But this "Human Rights Tribunal" just sounds like the Chinese Cultural Revolution where they had struggle sessions and people were called out for not being "revolutionary" enough. While Canadians need to do something about this ASAP, I think they shot themselves in the foot with this one by giving this much legal power to such a stupid entity.

The tyranny of the transgender movement has gone on far too long. It needs to be stopped. But unfortunately it's become the "right thing to do" to de-platform opinions like mine anywhere in public. Which is exactly what they want.

Unfortunately, Google's pretty much a black box for how they pinpoint the searcher's identity. Incognito helps disguise yourself, but I've still noticed differences between incognito and a completely clean google search.

Startpage.com anonymously uses google search results. Based on that, this thread isn't on page 1 for "Jonathan Yaniv". However, this thread is on page 1 for "Jonathan Jessica Yaniv".

(Also, just to let you know, multiposting is frowned upon. You should try to edit your past posts rather than post multiple times in a row.)

Question to Canada users: what is stopping you from calling up local businesses Johnathan has likely been to and warning them about him? I don't mean telling them about the lawsuits he's involved in, just about him being a creepy bathroom pervert. I know Canada's laws are fucked, but surely warning local businesses to be wary of a potential pervert isn't breaking any laws? It might prevent some poor little girl from getting spied on (or worse) by this sicko.

It would also be rather difficult to do anything about setting up a snailmail list and going after all his neighbors, nearby businesses, etc. Good luck getting that banned.

Practically speaking, a business would probably consider such a caller to be crazier than Yaniv and ignore them.

But since you asked...

Legally speaking, in addition to the "human rights" BS, Canada's defamation laws are also really fucked up. This gives me an opportunity to further rant about such things.

My understanding (I'm not American, so I'm open to correction on this) is that in the US, plaintiffs in a defamation case must prove falsity and material harm, as well as either gross negligence (if the plaintiff is a private citizen) or actual malice (if the plaintiff is a public figure). Defendants are also considered innocent until the plaintiff proves otherwise.

In Canada, plaintiffs don’t have to prove falsity, malice or special damages to win a defamation suit, and once the elements are met defendants are considered liable until they prove otherwise. Justification/truth is a defence to defamation, but a fair comment or qualified privilege defence is defeated if it is demonstrated that the defendant acted out of malice.

In other words, if anyone did this they would have to be very careful and only state things that are objectively, factually true. Even merely implying that he could be dangerous could still be actionable defamation even if it's supported by the factual examples of what he's done, if the court decides the caller was acting out of malice rather than out of duty (qualified privilege) or as a comment (fair comment--and that defence would also require that the matter be one of public interest, which the courts likely wouldn't accept in this case even though I'm sure most of us here would beg to differ).

I know this probably sounds ludicrous, but Yaniv has demonstrated himself to be extremely litigious and to use the legal system as a weapon, and Canada has some of the most plaintiff-friendly defamation laws in the English-speaking world, so they are another tool he could employ.

Well, would it be easy for them to track something done anonymously to the source? He can't make a defamation if he doesn't know doing it, right?

Practically speaking, this is true unless the caller is an idiot (but as I said before, practically speaking, I also don't think businesses would listen to some random person calling about this). But I thought I'd mention that since it was explicitly asked if that would be breaking any laws.

It's also worth mentioning because it complicates public discussion of this in Canada even further, and illustrates even more how, insanely, the way Canada's systems operate stack the deck in his favour here.

Damn I was just about to post about that.
I saved the screenshot in case it gets taken down.

What part of Rule 3 did this violate, exactly? Trolling? Flaming?

Betting pool when?
When the mods wake up, maybe. But at the moment, there sure are a lot of people interested in downvoting what should be a very innocuous thread to those who don't know what's going on, and a very interesting thread to those that do.

I don't use reddit often and I've never taken the time to observe how much a thread's ratings do or don't jump around, but that's what it looks like to me right now.
