Gabe, while it is possible for adults to require diapers for dealing with incontinence issues arising from health issues due to aging or illness, I do think there is a point where something becomes fetish gear when it's being worn entirely for personal gratification. AB/DL and babyfur shit is explicitly a fetishized interest, and this is recognized both by a vast majority of practitioners and decriers. The only reason why babyfurs try to argue otherwise is because, in many places, admitting that it's a fetish and not just "an innocent interest uwu" would have the potential to land them jail time or social ostricization from normies. There is a pretty broad difference between someone who shits their Depends because it's appealing to them, vs someone who literally cannot control their own bowels due to health problems.
Shoes and feet are not inherently sexual either. But when you have a group of people who think licking them is a hot and appealing activity, proceed to build a lifestyle and entire relationships around that singular interest, and actively refer to themselves as "foot fetishists", I think it's safe to assume that there is a sexual element to something that would otherwise be completely innocuous.
There are furries, I'll agree, who don't overly sexualize or fetishize their interest, and genuinely do just enjoy anthropomorphic and feral-themed artwork without jerking off to it. But these people are few and far between. The vast majority of furries do, actually, fetishize their interests to some degree, and while there are some passing attempts to keep the fandom clean in public view there is still an unfortunately frequent problem with furs wearing cum-stained murrsuits in public. This kind of shit is pretty much on-par with someone wearing a pup gimp mask, even among other furries, and the same goes for diaperfurs wearing and deliberately shitting and pissing their diapers in the lobby of Rainfurrest.
