Not to mention that I highly doubt she has an official copyright and the copy right on the train banner says it goes til 2010, which expired 6 years ago.

Not sure what you mean with "official copyright"? If you create something, you have the copyright. Automatic.
And copyright doesn't expire for a very long time (death of last principle author + several decades − it differs a bit per country, IIRC it's currently 75 years in the US)

I thought you had to file a copyright claim, the copyright on her website currently States ©2000-2010.

Nah, that hasn't been the case since at least the 1989 when the US joined the Berne convention. Before that, it was required to put a copyright notice and registered, but IIRC that was already abolished back in 1974. The copyright notice is useful to let people know who holds the copyright, and it *might* help in a lawsuit, but it's not really required as such. Like I said: copyright is automatic, copyright notice or not. The copyright duration is also automatic: life + 75 years (which is ridiculous, but that's a different discussion...)

You might have to register to file suit, depending where you are. That can be done pretty much at any time prior to suit, though. Registration also puts a verifiable copy of the work in the hands of the government so you can subsequently prove authorship at a given date. You also need a registration to collect statutory damages, i.e. damages without proving a specific amount of damages. Since those go as high as $150,000 per infringement, it's well worth being able to make such a claim.

dear leader, i am much relieved that we think alike. i discussed this with beary at the onset of Movie Night this evening, and i came to understand that wildchild "enjoyed certain protections" courtesy of bigger and more imposing apes than myself. i said i intended to shake this tree anyway, at great personal risk to my very, very important reputation and standing on this website for the retarded, and agreed to letting beary have my ass in exchange for also having my back. "i'm just being ETHICAL," i said, "and i feel like this is a significant development." he made a limp burbling noise in reply because he had eaten augmented brownies in preparation for a Cool Cat marathon. at time of writing he hasn't said anything for 95 minutes and is presumed dead.

I am just always amazed at how these crazies have never learned about not sharing personal information with people you don't know, especially on the internet. Then these people turn around and claim that it's the public's fault for not creating a space where they can hug box while looking ridiculous.
