A search indicates the purchase was a "14K YELLOW GOLD CLEOPATRA BAR 16" NECKLACE" for $400.

Back in November, Barb pawned a "14K gold necklace." Maybe this is a replacement for it.

This tells us one of two things: either some ween DID genuinely buy the totem and the payment went through, allowing Chris to buy this OR Chris already had $400 on hand to waste.

I'm not sure which is worse.

She probably never stops reminding Chris that she pawned a necklace to pay bills and that now it's his turn to sacrifice something. He likely thinks that replacing the necklace will get her off his back.

Is anyone surprised? Chris is so full of shit and lies constantly about needing money. Guess being $800 in the red for the month isn't that big a stressor on their finances that he can go out and spend half of that on a necklace.

Or years of pop culture and rom coms have told him you're supposed to buy a "girl" gifts and other pretty things to get them to have sex with you. Chris is just trying to make his dreams come true.
