And secondly: What are they supposed to do?

With their level of education, they can no longer do a computer conference, they can't fill up the schedule. And not enough people would come to a fuck & drugs conference to finance the hall.

So they do a mixed calculation. A computer conference is advertised officially and towards the tax authority, and the agenda is filled with what's there and still ready to talk.

In addition, they are enforcing a women's quota. And they need to meet that somehow.

I can't be bothered to type the entire flyer to google translate, but the news pieces at the bottom are from 2017 and 2022 so this might be the same story that got Jacob Applebaum kicked out of CCC. Almost exactly a year ago I caught some drama on the 37c3:

Today is the last day of the 37'th Chaos Communication Congress (37c3) and some people got pissed off that Jacob Applebaum (ioerror) has been allowed to attend. Applebaum is one of the WikiLeaks founder and former TOR project developers who was canceled over rape allegations around 2016. The rape situation is unclear. There was no investigation under German law, but the law in 2016 required the victim to fight back in order to be classified as rape.

I guess if you put a critical mass of nerds in Hamburg the rape allegations are going to come up by the dozen, especially when the (socially awkward) male-to-female ratio is in the high tens.

Whoever wrote the flyer put effort to be inclusive towards the "perpetrators", they wrote "Täter*innen". (They are not censoring the word, it's how the germans solved using ungendered language while having gendered nouns. It is as retarded as it looks like, makes me laugh every time i see this shit.). Did they just confirm a woman can sexually harass a man? Rare to see such a sensible opinion on a leftist flyer.
