I would also mention that the forum is much more of a cohesive community than 4chan. People know eachother, follow eachother, talk to eachother in DMs, etc. There are a fuck ton of in jokes, there's huge multi hundred page long DM chains with dozens of participants of people talking to eachother, boards like Q&A are shitposting spots for a clique of autists. If you get to know the community and become a part of it, it's rewarding and fun, but I imagine it makes it especially hard for newfags to get used to the site.

Basically every thread since 2013 is still on the website and you can read them. This thread is old but has some good info on the very early history of the site.
I do like the usernames/accounts, there were pros to being anonymous but the constant samefag debates in every thread were extremely tiresome. I've always thought 4chan would be better if there were at least IDs for every board

The amount of interactions on here can be daunting though, I logged on today to over 80 notifications, there's no way I'm going through all that and it can be stressful to be concerned you missed something and are being rude.

Im sure theres a thread already like this but since theres a whole bunch of rapefugees here I figured it'd be relevant to have this discussion in this thread.
I just want:
a shitposting thread
a /pol/ thread
an /x/ thread

What are the equivalents of these?

edit: And a thread where I can tell people to kill themselves without getting banned.

you have to have a special kind of autism to care as much about Internet retards as we do.
Its compatible with OSINT diggers and researchers. Overall the talent here is better than 4chan (per capita), but anons have done some ambitious shit even up to as recent as a month before the plug was pulled (or tried to despite how shitty the board had become).

If you go into your account settings, you can disable stickers showing up as notifications so you only see replies and posts on your profile. If you click on your profile picture in the top right, you can still click on "reactions received" if you want to look at your stickers. That should cut down massively on your notifications and narrow it down to stuff you might actually reply to.

Thank you, @DickMain and @gagabobo1997. Going to give those threads a read.

Go to settings and tweak what things you want to get notified about. The first thing I did was disable notifications for getting likes/awards. Those are cute, but nowhere near as interesting as seeing who quoted/mentioned you so that you can reply if needed.

Also don't feel like you MUST reply to everyone.
"Being rude"... that's adorable bro, really...

just ignore the notifications if you're in a busy thread, the post volume in this thread is highly abnormal

I have over 130 notifications and I cleared them like 3 hours ago

Always interesting to see a NAFO tranny in the wild. Head on over to this thread; you'll fit right in with your fellow zirs.
Never been. Never was. Talked shit about them. Got receipts. This ain't 4chan, prick. We can look it up.
Meanwhile you are the newguy talking obvious bullshit. You ain't anonymous anymore. This is a message board, Not an image board. So fuck off with your slander. My history shows exactly who I am. But who are YOU.

This does not constitute a lie under oath.
If this was your court case, you could depose him and ask further questions about what it means when he says posts cannot be edited.

There are many ways these posts may not be editable. Let's make a list of the ones I can think of off the top of my head:
  • if Xenforo does not allow edits on a locked account
  • if Xenforo does not allow edits on a banned user
  • if Xenforo does not allow other users (irrespective of moderators) to edit the post
  • if there is a read-only copy of the data in question
  • if edits of the post are administratively prohibited (i.e. Josh verbally instructed the staff not to alter the post in question)
  • if a claim was made in the past that the posts are editable in a more broad sense and Josh is clarifying that the posts are editable in a less broad sense

Then why didn't Null say any of that in his declaration?
And no that account wasn't banned or locked.

As long as you're not powerleveling too hard or are retarded enough to do what these jannies did then having an account with a name that isn't tied to anything might as well be anonymous.

Very helpful, thank you

any place on the site that documents KF lore?
that would honestly be way too autistic to go through for most people i imagine but some other people who have also tried to fuck with the farms in similar ways are liz fong jones (a.k.a. brick dong-gone) and samuel collingwood smith / vordrak, they also have threads here. vordrak was the first person who nearly caused the site to go down years ago by harassing nulls family iirc.
if youre into funny legal shit null is currently the defendant in 2 lawsuits by scorned lolcows russell greer and acerthorn who want their threads taken down NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!!
there was the higan emulator developer byuu / near who was mentally unstable and offered null over $100k to delete his thread which null refused. eventually the guy killed himself leaving only his deranged friend marcan (who also has a thread here and is still an active lolcow and literal tranny faggot) to report on his death and blame the farms for it.
there was a kf user @FuckYou a.k.a. couch cuck who tried to commit a mass shooting but got barricaded inside a room with a couch in front of the door or something which prematurely stopped his titanic rampage. tragic yet entertaining.
a lot of the very early lore is contained in old chris chan threads.

there you go, some examples

8cuck has all of those features

you could also just go to Vari's, it's another xenforo but for anime coomers, vtuber enjoyers, and lolicons. The lolicons are a little difficult to handle, they are as rabidly bizarre there as kiwifarms is in the opposite direction and it makes me uncomfortable frequently

Naw, not really. You'll settle into regular threads that you prefer and get used to seeing the same faces a lot. Even Null himself has said there's an enormous percentage of threads that he himself just doesn't interact with; the site is huge. Once you settle into whatever corner of the site you find most entertaining you'll be good.
