You may be familiar with USMC and how they are simultaneously the gayest (balls on your forehead if you fall asleep) and most homophobic branch in the US military. My theory was that this behavior rubbed off or otherwise transferred to /k/. So that's the cope/excuse.

i like it because it's outdoors, intense enough, and i always hated running. i'm not going to recommend getting a kayak to someone that just wants to not be fat. he'll drop pounds in a hurry if he tries. i lost a bunch of weight by following the advice i'm giving him. lifting is good too and i'm not trying to dissuade from that. just giving a perspective you don't normally see.

I just have PTSD from rucking non-optionally. I have a reflexive bad reaction. In hindsight, doing it with 45lbs wouldn’t be bad, probably. Unfortunately, I was doing it with a lot more so I’ll forever have a bad taste.
