In 2010s there used to be an image of a human centipede with logos of various websites that steal content from each other. It was 4chan at the beginning, then twitter, tumblr, 9gag and finally reddit at the end. It was like this, but longer:
Today only 4chan and twitter remain and both are joined in an even more twisted amalgam that loops back on itself.
It's ironic because both sites could at one point be described as reposting the worthwhile content from the other without the filler, but now it's the filler getting reposted back and forth. I remember sitting in 3 relatively large Discords and like the fucking stockmarket you could tell what kind of memes were trending based on which they sent between different #memes channels.
Then again, I played WoW at one point and people would rather sit around looking through /v/ posts than just go to r/wow and look at the top post for the patch notes. "Heh, at least I ain't a LEDDITOR!"

Third world spammers are likely shitting up the higher traffic boards, but lower traffic boards likely contain schizos and degenerate derelicts with nothing better to do than shitpost all day long. Even 4chan now, where boards couldn't be deader, has no shortage of those who do it for free.

It's really hit or miss to see what happenings are true or not considering the atrocious amounts of ragebaits and shitposts . Unlike here, that happenings have their own standalone forum for whatever stuff is happening on the world.
It has been revealed that Hiroyuki Nishimura, a businessman and YouTuber, and House of Councillors Member Fusao Izumi, the former mayor of Akashi City, Hyogo Prefecture, have established a new political party. The party was founded on July 20.
Ahead of next spring’s unified local elections, the party will solicit candidates through an open call. Specifically, in Tokyo’s 23 wards, the party plans to field candidates in all 11 scheduled ward mayoral elections.
Senator Izumi, who serves as co-leader alongside Hiroyuki, told the Tokyo Shimbun, “Rather than the old-style politics of the past, it is better for new people to take action from a fresh perspective.”
The new party is tentatively named “Hiroyuki & Izumi New Party,” and its establishment as a political organization was filed with the Tokyo Metropolitan Election Administration Commission on July 27. The official party name will be decided through a public call for suggestions.
In next spring’s unified local elections, the party aims to field candidates in all 11 ward mayoral elections scheduled in Tokyo (Chuo, Bunkyo, Taito, Sumida, Ota, Setagaya, Shibuya, Toshima, Kita, Itabashi, and Edogawa).
The party is also considering fielding candidates in gubernatorial elections in eight prefectures, including Kanagawa, Osaka, and Hokkaido, as well as mayoral elections in six government-designated cities, such as Sagamihara, Hamamatsu, and Shizuoka. In addition, the party will explore fielding candidates in the approximately 200 municipal mayoral elections held nationwide.
They also aim to enter national politics in the future.
Hiroyuki and Izumi deepened their friendship through appearances together on internet programs and discussions, and in 2023, they co-authored a book titled “Is It True That Addressing the Declining Birthrate Makes Both People and Cities Happy?” which focuses on measures to combat the declining birthrate.
