Just tested it and it's real lmao. The funniest thing is that according to the archives, it seems to be specifically for American IPs only. European and Oceania IPs have zero issue saying gamer words like nigger, faggot, or tranny more than three times in a post. The tranny janny menace strikes again.

ETA: Some Euros were also getting shadowbanned. Either the detection system has some very strange guidelines or it's shit and some autismos are just able to break it through brute force testing.

Probably to make the site more ad/investor-friendly, same reason the IP counter was removed. They couldn't outright ban the use of gamer words since that would be immediately noticed and cause a huge upset, so they went with this more lenient approach that is much subtler. This has probably been in place for a while (Maybe implemented the same time as the IP counter removal) and no one noticed until now. I saw someone complain that a post they made which nearly hit the char limit filled with tranny was being shadowbanned, but once they split it into two posts, it was kosher. There may be something where the longer your message is, the more gamer words you're allocated.

Eating posts is nothing new, but before it was untargetted. Whenever you fill out a captcha wrong, there's a chance it clears the post and gives you the "post successful!" message even though it didn't go through, and this is more common when using third-party apps or extensions like 4chanx or kuroba—happened to me a few times over the past few months.

When it went through on the second try, he probably just did the captcha right that time.
